On August 8th of 2022 "Dave the Plumber" dug up my yard to replace my sewer line which had been backing up. They said they replaced the old clay pipes in my yard with PVC and the pipes running under the street were checked and had no clogs or issues. Total cost was $3,840.00. Over the course of the next 2 months my toilets continued backing up (off and on) so the problem clearly had not been fixed. On October 18th, "Dave the Plumber" finally sent his technician ****** ******* out to check my cleanout again. After several failed attempts to unclog my line, the technician said the clog was NOW in the street (where ***** ****** claimed to have checked with a camera and said it was fine) and they weren't equipped or willing to dig 12 feet down into the street and repair my line connecting to the city main. I then hired ****** ******** out of Springfield to do the repairs in the street but before digging 12 feet down into the street, they first wanted to make sure the issue was indeed in the street. After running a camera through my sewer line and digging up my yard, they discovered the issue was NOT in the street and was in my yard where "Dave the Plumber" supposedly fixed the issue. ****** ******** said "Dave the Plumber" had replaced the sewage line 3 feet short of the clog. ****** ******** then replaced 7 feet of old pipes that had NOT been replaced by "Dave the Plumber". This work cost me an additional $2,791.00. Thanks to ****** ********, I now have a working sewer system but feel "Dave the Plumber" should be responsible for the additional $2,791.00 I had to pay ****** ******** or provide me with a refund of $3,840.00 for not fixing my issue.

I was willing to complete the work and redo everything until he began to threaten me.  I would be willing to offer a partial refund of $500 for the work that the other plumber did.  We told him that we would not be going out to the street.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: Yes. I was very angry that it took 2 months before Dave sent his technician back out to fix the issue that clearly was not fixed and said things that I shouldn't have. However, he DID send his technician back out and mis diagnosed the problem by saying the issue was in the street and I'd have to hire another plumber to do that work. As I stated in my complaint, ****** plumbing found the issue NOT to be in the street and after fixing what Dave did NOT. I had to spend $2,800 with ****** plumbing to fix what I'd already paid Dave the plumber $3,840. I shouldn't have to pay two different companies to fix the same issue. His offer of $500 is laughable as it doesn't even touch the $2,800, he's cost me.

    Sincerely,
    ******* *****
