    We were quoted a price of $2,100 for tractor repair. When the job was completed, yesterday, we were quoted a total price of over $3,000. We don't think they have bogus charges, they simply did not, up front, comunicate that the total cost would be over $3,000, or somewhat close to this.

    If they would have given us an up front number of $3,000, we would have made our decision on that total amount.

    The customer was told that his diesel injection pump on his tractor was bad and that we would have to send it to a diesel pump shop for rebuild or, he would have to purchase a new one and that there would be labor involved to remove the pump and reinstall. We also allowed that we would call him when the pump shop gave us a quote for the pump rebuild. By the way a new pump was over $3000 and unavailable. My tech told the customer that removing the pump, reinstalling and timing it would be 5 to 6 hours and that our labor rate is $125 per hour. The customer gave us the go ahead and we proceeded with the job after the pump shop gave us the price. The only thing we did to the tractor without approval was to drain and clean the fuel tank. the tank was found to be rusty and dirty which would lead to another pump failure which we offered to take off of his bill. The customer responded via email which can be provided and offered to pay $2700.00 dollars which we agreed to with the stipulation that we would require payment in cash. we haven't heard anything else from this customer. I don't understand what the problem is now.
