I purchased a 2016 **** Fusion from this dealership and the check engine light came on after a month. I took it for repairs and was told the head needed to be fixed and I spent $3,000 getting this repaired. I now need a brand new motor and when I try reaching out to the dealership I can&#**;t get through to anyone and they no longer open the door to me and the owner is not willing to help me. I would like my money back at this point.

      Business Response

      Date: 09/13/2024

      To whom it may concern,

******* ***** came in and purchased her Fusion February 20th, 2024.  I had the car priced at $14,900.  The car had been gone through, serviced, as well as the head gasket pressure checked, and the cylinders were scoped, it showed no issues or signs of failure.  We did this due to ****** 2.0L 4 ************** having major issues with the cylinder walls leaking coolant into the engine, its a massive issue and a well known issue.  I negotiated down to $11,500 for *******, as she said that is all she had/could afford and needed a car asap to move back to I believe Georgia or *******? Anyways, I wanted to try to help her and to my knowledge, the car was good to go.  When negotiating on this car, I informed ******* that there would be NO Warranty, it was AS-IS, she signed a form as well stating it was "As-Is, NO Dealer Warranty".  (We include a 4 month/4,000 Mile Powertrain warranty with all of our vehicles, unless we negotiate the price down as the warranty costs us $500 a piece.) She agreed to all of these terms.  Around the middle of March, she called me, i believe she was in ******* or ******* already, Im not for sure which state, but i know she was not in *********  She was at a **** Dealership, she informed me the car had a check engine light on and she took it to **** to see the issue.  The guy she had on the phone with her from the dealership told me it needed the motor replaced due to the coolant cylinder wall leak issue, not a head gasket.  I informed him and ******* that the car had no warranty, as she agreed to those terms, in exchange for $3,400 off the sale price.  Head gasket repair is cheaper then motor repair, I'm not sure why the head gasket was replaced when he told me it needed a motor, so that sounds to me like it could be at fault of the dealer she took the vehicle to.  I have not heard from *******, nor seen ******* since that conversation. To my knowledge, she isn't even in ******** anymore, so I'm not sure how she could be accusing us of not opening our doors to her? We have a set of double doors in the front of our shop, they're unlocked Monday-Friday 8-6 and Saturday 9-2.  I also would be more then happy to provide my call logs for both my business and cell phone from February 20th until now, showing that she has not called in or tried to reach us again.  When i talked to her while she was at the **** dealer, she told me that she understood she agreed to these terms.  I do not feel that I'm at fault for this situation.  Had she given full price it would've had a warranty, or even if i only came down $1,000 off my price, I would have still helped her with it, but i can not take that much money off of a car and then still take care of any issues that may occur after the sale.  I'm very sorry this vehicle has presented issues, but vehicles do have issues, they're man made, as well as they're more likely to have issues when they get past 100K miles, like this Fusion was.
