On 3-24-23 we signed a service contract with D&B Construction, **************************************************************************** in the amount of $61,240.00 for construction of a 12' x 24' addition to our house to extend the kitchen and bathroom and add a laundry room. This work was started on 3-27-23 and they estimated a 4 to 6 week start to completion time. D&B Construction lost one employee and we understood delays. We were also patient when a drywall subcontractor did a bad job and had to be replaced. We offered them extra work early on in the job and signed two addendum's to the contract for house siding on 5-26-23 and decking and support posts on deck on 6-16-23 totaling $11,150.00. A kitchen stove downdraft was purchased in April 2023 and the installation instructions were give to D&B Construction so the duct work could be installed before the sub floor was installed but D&B Construction ignored it causing problems later on when trying to install the downdraft after the kitchen floor and cabinets were in place.Six months went by and everything was still not completed including a leaky shower for two months. 25 items of work were not completed or completed poorly by D&B Construction. On 9-18-23 we received an email from D&B Construction stating they were terminating their contract with us immediately and we would need to find someone else to finish their work.D&B Construction did not complete work in a timely manor and many things were done poorly. They claimed to do quality work but that did not happen. D&B Construction promised to finish the work and that obviously that did not happen. Since they left the job we have had to hire other contractors to complete some of D&B Construction's uncompleted work. We have also completed some of the uncompleted work ourselves. This shows D&B Construction is not capable and has no desire to complete work or to do it correctly. We rate D&B Construction 1 on a scale of 1 to 5.

***-We were disappointed to get this review from you. We did lose an employee and there were some delays. Some were not in our control, such as weather and material issues. We had a contract with you for constructing a 12x24 addition to the front of the home and extending the kitchen and bathroom. The contract stated that all work would be done to completion except for HVAC, flooring, and cabinetry. We provided all materials, not including the entry door, paint, stool, or any other personalized/custom installation requests. This was for the cost of $61,240 and was completed. We also had one addendum with you for decking and installing support posts on the deck. This addendum was an additional $3,700, and this work was also completed. The rest of the work we did for you was to keep you happy and continue the positive relationship we had with you. Months passed because we had to wait for the custom items to be installed i.e., cabinets and other specialty items, before we could finish our part of the job. We had people come in to fix the poorly done work that was contracted out, and this was not an expense to you. We paid for it. Many times, things were discussed and then you changed your mind after the work was done. There were some things that were explained, and you were warned not to move or mess with, but you ignored these warnings. We came back again to fix the issues that we did not cause, again, to keep the positive relationship we had. There were multiple weekends and late-night phone calls from you. Many times, you yelled on these calls cursing and belittling the time we put in on your renovation. You were asked multiple times to not speak that way, and we could handle issues in a civilized manner. We terminated your contract due to your conduct, requirements, and treatment of our employees, all of which were not acceptable behaviors our company would continue to deal with. We were not a right fit, and we sent you a referral to a company who could possibly help you complete the unfinished work. We felt that we had gone above and beyond to meet your needs and are saddened by the poor review. We provide quality work and will proudly continue to do so.
