      I was a very long time consumer of the ********************* Nutrish Dry Cat Food assuming it was 'safe' with the ********************* name on it. Long story short, I watched one of our cats lose all of her belly fur accompanied by abdominal distention. After taking her off the food she has since recovered! :-(

      As mentioned in our email response dated May 22, 2024, we are sorry to hear this product caused a reaction with your pet. Animals, like humans, can develop allergies or sensitivities to certain foods. Our goal is to produce quality products that appeal to all pets, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. 

      Without a veterinarians diagnosis,its hard to speculate what might have happened but are happy to hear your fur-baby is doing better.

      Smuckers no longer owns ***************************. It was purchased by Post Holdings over one year ago. Im forwarding this complaint over to ********************* at Post, who I believe will be the point of contact for any BBB complaints regarding their pet brands which would include 9 Lives, Gravy Train, *************** Natures Recipe. *************************** and Pounce.

      Thank you for bringing to our attention the complaint submitted to BBB on May 30, 2024 by ******************************* and giving ******************** ****** the opportunity to respond.  

      Post received and responded to an e-mail from ****************** in the ordinary course of business, before being informed of this BBB complaint. Post's *************************** received an e-mail from ****************** on May 22, 2024 raising the same concern discussed in the complaint BBB shared. Post responded to ****************** by e-mail on May 22, 2024 asking for product information to use for quality assurance purposes and additional information on Ms. ******** experience. ****************** did not have product information to provide and declined a refund or product coupons. 

      On May 23, 2024, Post learned ****************** contacted BBB. Post responded to the consumer as follows:
