On or about June 20, 2025, Cardinal Building delivered roofing shingles to the house across the street from my home. That address is *****************************************. In the process of backing into that driveway, they drove on my front yard and put a large ditch in my lawn. They said it would be fixed but as of yet, it has not been fixed. The rut is so large I can't even mow across it. I want it fixed now.

We appreciate the opportunity to respond to Mr. ******* complaint and are committed to working toward a satisfactory resolution.

Our Account of Events: On June 16, 2025, we completed a delivery at ********************** On June 20, 2025, we received Mr. ******* complaint with photographs showing damage to his lawn. While our delivery team does not believe our vehicle caused the ruts in question, we understand Mr. ******* concern and take this matter seriously.

Our Resolution Efforts: Upon receiving the complaint, we immediately committed to helping resolve the situation. We have attempted to locate a landscaper in the ******** area to complete the repair work, but have encountered challenges finding available contractors for this relatively small project.

Current Offer: To move toward a prompt resolution, we are prepared to provide Mr. ***** with $500 to address the lawn damage. This payment would allow him the flexibility to either complete the repair himself or hire a landscaper of his choosing. We believe this approach will be more efficient than continuing to search for available contractors.

We are awaiting Mr. ******* response regarding whether he would prefer the $500 payment or would like us to continue seeking a landscaper to complete the work directly.

    Sincerely,

    **** *******

Around the end of April, beginning of may we had people come out to work on our roof. Dropped off the shingles on the roof and in the midst of doing that they pulled a big truck in the driveway and crushed by the sheer weight of the truck. I called them and they said they put in a complaint with the roofing H3233**3434**353134H people. I reached out H31**3336353233343538H, the roofing material people. They sent someone to look out the driveway and now I am being told that I have to wait before they can send someone out to look at the driveway. They say its always gonna be a few weeks but never clarified why the few weeks. They sent someone out today 06/18/24 to look at it and told me straight up that they will not pay for the 2 slabs that are damaged as a result of their truck. He tried to tell me that the reason being the driveway was broken is because of depreciation of the concrete. If that&#**;s the case, why did they drive their heavy truck into my driveway? It feels like there are no plans to repair the driveway.

    Business Response

******************** purchased roofing material from our company and requested that we complete a rooftop delivery using his driveway.

************************ driveway was cracked and broken up in multiple places prior to our delivery, as evidenced in the attached photographs.  The driveway also had vegetation growing in various areas on the driveway.

Cardinal pulled square on the driveway as requested by ********************.  We acted responsibly and in good faith, and only performed action as we were requested to do as to perform a rooftop delivery.  ************************ driveway did deteriorate further while we completed the requested delivery.

If Cardinal or a Cardinal employee ever acts irresponsibly and creates damage, Cardinal will take care of any damage we caused.  For example, if we drove over an edge of a driveway and the edge cracked, that would be our error and we would go above and beyond to remedy the damages.  In this case, though, we acted responsibly and only completed the actions that we were requested to do in the course of a rooftop delivery.  The deterioration was caused by underlying issues with the driveway, not by Cardinal's actions.

That said, we are willing to help repair the left side of the second slab where the primary deterioration occurred.  We have a contractor who can cut out an approximately 3 foot by 4 foot section and replace it with fresh concrete.  As a second offer, we can compensate ******************** $500 and he can use those funds as he sees fit.  To be clear, we are offering one or the other option for ********************.  If we hire a contractor for the repairs, then there will not be a separate payment to ********************.

These offers are meant as gestures of goodwill.  We hope one of these options will be agreeable to ********************.
