I am having issues with the pick up system for Waste Connections. I am having trouble getting through to a supervisor due to the high call volume. I have ordered pick up services and yard waste for 90 days and they do not honor it or pick up on the day I requested.Business Response

************* was canceled on 12/13/2023 via a telephone call made to Waste Connections at ************. Spoke with Waste Connections representative ***** requesting cancellation of service and refund for balance of third quarter payment ($20.36) and fourth quarter payment ($103.44) totaling $123.68. This amount was the amount ************** said would be refunded to us. She stated that it would be 6 to 8 weeks before refund would be received. We made a follow up call to ***** on 1-29-2024 inquiring as to why we had not received the refund as previously stated. ***** stated that she would approve the refund and forward all necessary documentation to accounting for them to process refund and we should have it in 7 to 10 days. Another follow up call was made to Waste Connections on 2-12-2024 and spoke with ***** who reviewed our account and saw notes from ***** stating check was to be issued. He transferred call to ***************** Voicemail left on ***** telephone to return call with status of refund. ***** returned call on 2/13/2024 stating that check had not been issued and stated that she called St. Louis accounting and confirmed all information with them to issue refund check. Stated that we should have refund in two weeks. Additional information was shared with us from another customer in our neighborhood who is also requesting a refund, spoke with ***** on 2/27/2024. ***** stated again that she has approved refund and that we should have refund in two weeks. As of 2/28/2024 no refund check has been received nor any further conversations or written information regarding this situation. This situation can be resolved with an honest response and an actual refund check in hand delivered by certified mail in a expedited manner.Business Response

The trash truck that came to the house on 1/17/2024 put deep ruts in my driveway and my grass. There was rainy weather during that time. No other vehicle has been up there. Contacted them, they said they would tell a supervisor, The next time they were supposed to pick up the trash, they said the dumpster was empty. They did not pick up the trash. The dumpster was checked; it had trash in it. They called back, ***** left a message stated the driver said the dumpster was empty and the tracks are not from them.Business Response

We are disputing this customer's claim. The original complaint said the customer saw our truck do the damage to her yard, but it was a week she was not scheduled for service. Then the customer called back and claimed the damage occurred a week earlier and that her neighbor saw it. There is no proof that our driver/truck caused this damage.Customer Answer

There is no other vehicle that goes up and down near the driveway where the dumpster was located. It was the week it was raining really bad, my helper told me about the ruts on Jan. 26th. The following week, Jan. 17, was supposed to be pick up day. I assumed Jan. 24th was the pickup day and I called them. The rep said it was supposed to be on Jan. 17th and the next date would be Jan. 31st for trash pickup. My helper forgot to tell me last week when it happened. The trash was not picked up on Jan. 17th or Jan. 31st because it was full when they came to pick up the dumpster. The guy who came to pick up the trash in the dumpster didn't get out of the truck to see if anything was in the dumpster on Jan. 31st. The new trash collection people dropped off on Jan. 24th.
I want them to fix the ruts that they made in my yard and the driveway going up to the dumpster.

Today I called and asked if the time my trash was picked up could be given. I was told the truck GPS was not working. In a previous conversation they were adamant their vehicles were equipped with GPS and cameras to document their work. Whenever I ask for proof the equipment is never operable.
If their response involve my recycle bin not being available for pick up, it is because I did not place the recycle bin out for pick up.Business Response

I still am not sure what this customer is requesting. As explained in the attachments from our office, we do not provide video to the customers. The initial call wasn't that her trash was missed, it was that a driver was stopped in front of her house, looked at a route sheet, back at her house and drove away. There is no explanation, and also no issue. Perhaps it was the yardwaste driver checking the route sheet to see if this was an active stop. The trash may have been missed, but it was picked up within 24 hours of her call. There is nothing else to be done on this issue.Customer Answer

I was never told they could not share. I was told they could not go as far back as the date I requested when the rep. Rae told me she would check the date in question and let me review it. The date I wanted to see was within a few days
I am now asking if they can tell me what time was my trash picked up on Thursday, December 14. 2023 and not tell a lie the GPS was not working.
If they cannot provide the answers send it to the correct department that can provide an indepth professional answer.

I am confused on what you expect from us. If your trash or recycle are missed, please call into customer service. We are not required to tell you what time your trash and recycle are picked up. I am rejecting this response because:It is very obvious they are presenting false information and are not sharing information due to some type of illegal activity.
The next time one of their employees come to my residence without an appointment or look suspicious in their activities. I will contact appropriate authorities and take actions to pursue the matter further.
I will close by saying I have never conversed with any type of company/agency that is so unprofessional in writing and responding.
Now I understand why you receive so many complaints and your unprofessional services are constantly terminated.

We were customers of Waste Connections Missouri via the contract with our town Wildwood Mo. Account ************.
We automatically paid our 3 month bill ahead of time via direct bank payment to Waste Connections of Missouri. from our bank account. In June $49..50 was paid directly to our Waste Connection account for period 1st July to 3rd September 2023. This payment was received and cashed by Waste Connections on June 5th 2023.
Later that week we received a quarterly bill from Waste Connections in the mail for $10.87 instead of the usual quarterly amount on the bill. We learned this would be the final bill from Waste Connections Missouri since our town of Wildwood had contracted with a new trash hauler. from July 31 2023.
We alerted customer service at Waste Connections Missouri via three emails of our overpayment for the final service bill of $10.87 by $38.63. We have phoned at least 5 times now to receive the $38.63 refund we overpaid but have not yet received the refund. The latest excuse ( 2 weeks ago) was that the corporate office in Texas had issued a check for the refund, October 27 2023,. I called Waste Connections Missouri again today as we have not received this check. We would like the Better Business Bureau to intervene on our behalf in order to receive the refund we have been overdue for 5 months.Business Response

There was a refund of $38.63 issued on October 27, 2023. Refunds are mailed from our corporate office in Houston. We are unable to reissue a refund until at least 30 days have passed. The trucks are leaving large areas of oil on the street. This has been reported at least 8 times now to Waste Connections, and 3 time to EPA. The last complaint was made to ****** ***, the Operations Manager, on Friday, October 6. The truck that picked up the trash today left yet more oil on the street. Yes, Waste Connections does come out to clean up the oil spills. However, the spills were happening every single week over the course of at least 3-6 months. Some of the oil stains did not come off and are unsightly. What the client would like is for them to fix their recycle truck. It was reported to their mechanical supervisor ****** ***. Also, their drivers like to park their trucks on ******** ***** Court street (I am assuming to kill time), and this is where more oil spills are left.Initial Complaint

As of 8/14 they have decided not to service my entire neighborhood because of 1 resident. Then when they picked up their trash cans they stole cans that we bought personally that did not belong to them. So now not only do we not have trash pickup we also do not have our personal can that we purchased separately from them to put trash in. Cans this size easily cost more than $100 and they just took it without even blinking. They are thieves.Business Response

I've been paying for trash/recycle and yard waste pickup since I moved to Florissant with Waste Connections, every bill is paid on time and I never had an issue until last week and this week was the same problem, I'm not getting the service I pay for.On August 3rd, the recycle and trash were picked up but the yard waste collector walked to my yard waste bin, opened the lid, took out the small branch laying on top of the grass clippings in the bin, then walked away without even attempting to dump the bin. All of this was captured on my home camera. When I went outside and asked why he wasn't dumping my yard waste, he dismissively said "it's too heavy" as he got in the truck and drove away. The bin wasn't even full and all that was in there were the grass clippings I have every week when I get my grass cut, and not once before was there ever any problem with the bin being dumped. I had to call WC three times that morning before they finally decided to send a supervisor out to see if in fact the bin exceeded the weight limit to be dumped. When the supervisor came, he easily dumped the bin.Today August 10th, the same yard waste guy came and this time I didn't even get my grass cut, I intentionally made sure the bin was light enough for him. There were only some handfuls of leaves that had fallen. I watched again on my camera as he walked to my yard waste bin, lifted the lid, looked at the leaves inside, then walked back to the truck without dumping my yard waste. Again I called WC at 9am, was told they'd have him come back to pick it up. I called back at 11am, was told the order for pickup was made and to give him until 4pm. Called back at 4pm, was told they called the driver and he would be by at the end of his route by 6pm. Tried to call at 6 when he still hadn't come and WC closed at 5pm. I don't pay $90 for this guy to decide he just doesn't want to dump my yard waste. I paid for the service, WC failed to provide the service while lying that he would pick it up.Customer Answer

I called Waste Connections today August 11th, and spoke with ****** who claimed that they sent someone out this morning to pick up my yard waste but since I brought it in yesterday, they weren't going to pick it up this week unless I paid a fee. I explained to her that I called three times yesterday and all time I was assured that the driver would be by yesterday by 6pm. None of the three people I spoke with, the first whose name was *******, said that they were sending someone out the next day and to leave my yard waste bin out. WC has already collected the money for my pickups because I have to pay for service 3 months in advance, and they are refusing to pick up my yard waste and refuse to give me the name of the driver I have on camera two weeks in a row choosing not to dump my yard waste. I've attached a photo of the contents in my yard waste bin this week, it's only some leaves because last week the driver claimed my grass clippings were "too heavy" even though every week before then there was never any problem with dumping my grass clippings.Customer Answer

Waste connections missed my pickup again on August 8th. I completed a request on their website the evening of August 8th informing them of the missed pickup. I called their customer service twice, once in the morning and once in the evening, on August 9th and the customer service representative assured me the pickup would be made by the end of the day. It was not. I would like WC to make the pickup or refund my fee for this week since they didn’t perform the service this week.Business Response

I have attempted 3 times to cancel my yard waste service with Waste Connections beginning in April 2023. I called back again in May and was told that it had been cancelled and would take affect 7/1/23 at the beginning of the new quarter. I called again on June 16, 2023 to make sure it had been cancelled. It had not. I was assured by representative, ******, that she had cancelled it and since they would no longer be servicing our County as of July 31, 2023, I would be receiving a check in the mail for the refund and should expect to get this in the middle of July. As of August 4, I have still not received a check and once again called Waste Connections and asked to speak with a supervisor. I was told that the supervisor, *******, was on the phone with another customer and would call me back. It is now August 6 and I have yet to receive a call back. I know that other neighbors have also had problems with Waste Connections and in July they just stopped picking up their yard waste all together. I reached out to our new trash provider, Republic, to see if they showed me as having yard waste on my account because I had been told that any services that I had with the previous company would transfer to the new provider. Republic showed that I had yard waste on my account, which I cancelled with them. So after reaching out to Waste Connections on 3 separate occasions to cancel this service, it was never cancelled and I was billed $11.00 for it. I have never seen such inept customer service in my life.Business Response
