I never received a trash can for months- they kept saying they were busy- just put bags out- which animals would tear up. Then I paid the bill $82.58 on 12/21/22 and after I called them about the trash can again- still have no idea when I could get it- because they were busy- spoke to the manager- told him I wanted to cancel he just said ok- they were busy- now I’ve been calling for my refund - I asked to cancel as soon as I paid because of how rude they were- they said they couldn’t. They told me the send out at end of the mo th it was cancelled- which was December. I called again today, lady said it could take up to 90 days. What kind of business operates like this!?!?Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
They have been telling me they process the end of the same month you cancel- which was December. This is ridiculous, just like their lack of ability to provide customers with a simple trash can. People need to know nott to use their services. They have horrible customer service, they don’t care when you call about issues, and now it’s taking forever to get my money back when they should have been able to cancel the payment the same day since I called the same day I paid it.

Every year, we have a salesman from their company that comes in to sign an agreement and we pay for a year. We had a salesman come in on 11/21/2021. We paid him for two years. He wrote it down on the contract. He told me it would be $35/month since we were paying for two years. I gave him a check for the two years. They didn't pick up my trash. I called and they said we owe them money. They can't pick up the trash until the balance is paid. They said the salesman didn't turn in the contract, but I have a copy of the contract.Business Response

I reached out to advise that our contract was up and we were planning to go to a dumpster for our trash service, but that in our building there are 2 other businesses, and the owner of the building reached out to ask about service with Waste Connections, and someone there told him that they would be like $134/month for a dumpster that was $78 from Waste Management. The lady there was very rude, telling him that he was wrong, that what he saw and read right there online was incorrect.
She then emailed all parties and said "I'm going to end the contract for each of the 2 tenants with service with us", which was on 10/30.
They would later send a letter explaining that they didn't process my cancellation in time to prevent the billing for November, despite that NOT being what was written in the email correspondence.
I notified them I wasn't going to pay it and that they needed to come get their tote because the dumpster was there for the other service provider. They left the tote for 3 more weeks then finally came for it, and keep trying to invoice me. I'm not going to pay them, because I had already participated in the trash dumpster service?Business Response

I have been problems with their company not picking up trash at our apartment complex. They have been very inconsistent. I have called them several times. They take my number and they tell me someone will get back with me but they never do. The receptionist said that it shows on GPS that they were in the area, but they never picked up trash at the complex.

I set my trash out for pick up service on Sunday night 10/16. the pick up date is Monday 10/17/22. they did not pick up my trash bin. i called them on 10/18/22 to let them know they forgot to pick up my trash can. they said the driver would not pick it up due to a car parking next to my trash can. the recycle can was right next to that which the did pick up. to me it is insane that the trash company cannot get out of truck an get can. thats the service i pay for. i can not help when people park on the street it is not my street. They said they will not send a truck out to pick it up because the truck parked by it.Business Response

I apologize that your trash was missed but the cart was too close to a parked truck. Since this is an automated route (which is why the driver doesn't get out) there has to be at least 3 feet from any stationary object.

I am rejecting this response because: i should get a credit for my trash not being picked up for the service i pay for. I need a prorated credit for there actions. I cant help that someone parked by my trash can. It is called waste management. Not ingore ur waste an drive by an charge you for a service they did not do. Because its a public street an people r free to park where they want. I need a credit for the service i did not receive.

Hello my problem is that my recycleis not being picked up. I tried calling. I did talk to a human last week. She told me to leave the recycle out and it will be picked up. Well they did picked it up. This week same thing again. I did not talk to a human this time. I left a message about my recycle is not being picked up.
I expect the job to be done since I’m paying for it . Why do I need to complain about something that I have paid for. This is not me it’s the entire subdivision. I live in ******** ******. I make sure it is out the day before. Then when I go to bring the containers back they have not been emptied. This is the second week the trash was not picked up. I did received a robo call saying if the trash have not been picked up please leave it to the curb and they will pick it up. Well that did not happen nobody trash was picked up. Some of my neighbors just take it back. And wait next week but instead you have an overflow. I did not pay to leave an overflow of bags. That will probably be opened up by critters looking for food and trash everywhere. If the person want to keep a job. Do it right the first time so that you don’t hAve to do it the second time. I want my trash and recycle picked up on time it’s suppose to be done because I paid for it and agree to the amount that my subdivision contracted them to do is pickup trash and recycle.how hard is it to do. All he has to do is check it off ithe streets he have done. It’s not like he’s picking it up like in the old days. Now they have a simpler way of picking it up. They won't pick up the trash. The containers are out and blocking our driveway. My husband is disabled and gets picked up in a van and they can't pick him up because of the containers. I have called five times and they say they will get to it but they don't. Yesterday the trash truck drove right by the house and didn't even stop. We have pick ups on Tuesday. On Wednesday this week, they picked up my neighbors' trash, but not mine.Business Response

My problem with Waste Connection is this…. They simply don’t pick up trash or yard waste!!! Our neighborhood pick up for trash and yard waste is Wednesday. On Wednesday, September 28, 2022, our trash was NOT picked up! I called the company on Wednesday evening and they said the driver was still out and should be there before 6 pm. Well, no one showed to get the trash! I called the next day (Thursday) and they said someone will be by to pick the trash up! No one showed! I called the next day (Friday) and they said someone will be by before 6pm and the driver was still out! No one came by on Friday either!
This company is closed on weekends so when I called Saturday morning, no one answered! Everyone’s trash within my neighborhood has been sitting at the curb overflowing! I’m sick of this company and their empty promises! My bill for trash and yard waste has increased significantly! However this company only collects as expected maybe 65% of the time! I’ve filed numerous complaints about this company and their service only gets worse!
I demand my bill be adjusted and I would like for the lies to stop! Our trash will probably just sit until the next scheduled pickup day which is total ********* I will make it my life’s mission to rid this subdivision of the subpar service of waste connection! If they can’t handle the work, they need to relinquish the duties to a more capable and responsible agency! Staffing/ driver issues is NOT the customer’s problem!
I would also like for the BBB’s rating system to be explained to me in great detail! How does this company have an A+ rating when complaints continue to pile up regarding their terrible service and crappy responses. Complaints regarding this company are obviously falling on deaf ears. But if complaints are what it takes to ruin their business reputation then I will continue to make them until they are worthy of an A+ rating, which in my opinion, should NEVER be!Business Response

Sept 19, the trash truck came and emptied my trash into the truck, but did not set my can back down. I called they said they would bring a new can out right away. She told me to in the mean time I should either set the trash out in bags, or buy a can. Whey should I buy a can when I am paying for one that they have in stock. On Sept 23 they still had not brought one, so I called them again, They said they were out of cans and that it would take 2-3 weeks for them to get one to me. I spoke with an employee of the company and they said they have "thousands" of cans. So I called agin on the 26th, and again inquired about the status of a can. I am the superintendent of the ***** *** School District. We rented a dumpster from Waste Connections in June/July of 2022. They put the dumpster behind our high school. When they came back to get the dumpster, the driver hit an overhead electric wire, ripping it from the side of the building. We had a live electric wire on the ground with students on campus at summer school. This was a dangerous situation where a kid could have potentially been killed. We contacted Ameren (utilities provider) to come and fix the problem before anybody got hurt. I have tried to contact Waste Connections five times. I can’t even get a phone call back. This cost us thousands of dollars. Somebody could have been hurt very badly or even killed. They have never taken responsibility or even called us back. They are the ones who put this dumpster in this location on our property, and then they are the ones who drove into the wire upon picking up the dumpster. It is beyond reprehensible that a business would operate this way, dealing with school age children, and never pick up the phone to try to (1) make sure nobody got hurt, and (2) try to find out what damage was done.Business Response

leaving the property when we caught a low hanging power line on your property. The power company is responsible for maintaining their lines at a
minimum of 14’, this one was below that and got caught on our truck. We made
several attempts to contact the school but could not reach anyone, so we called

I am rejecting this response because:The dumpster was put back there, under the 14 foot line, by your truck. We didn't put it there. There is another way around, not under a 14 foot wire, to put the same dumpster in the same location. The line was hit during summer school, with students on the property. This caused a very serious situation in regard to student safety and caused thousands of dollars of damage.
