I called Farr Better Plumbing to come to my home and help me resolve my sump pump issue in the basement. The sump pump bucket was not low enough to get the water out. A gentlemen named ***** came to my home in January and gave me quotes on getting the bucket deep enough to get the water out. I paid $250 for them to lower the bucket and put in a drain pipe. I had advised them about the rock underneath the dirt and asked multiple times if they thought the issue would be resolved. They assured me it would be. Technician ***** came out to do the actual work based on the quote from *****. After the first big rain, the bucket washed right back up as if nothing had been done. I contacted the company back to complain and the only solution I was provided was "we can come back out and drill into the rock below for more money." When ***** initially came out to quote me, he didn't think the rock needed drilled into and was confident that getting it a little lower would solve the problem. It appears I paid $250 bucks for nothing. My issue is the same and it makes no sense to quote me for something, pay for it, and have the same result. I would like a refund. If they weren't confident in the solution without jackhammering the rock, they shouldn't have even came out. That's what the initial consultation was for and I have no clue what i paid for. $250 for what?

I have attached both of the invoices and images from the two times that we went out to Ms. *********************** ***** is for the first time that we went out to her house - she was told at the time of booking the appointment that our service calls are time and material, and that our hourly rate is $100 per hour with a minimum of one hour. It is also noted on the invoice that there would be a drive time fee, which she was not charged. As you can see on the bottom of invoice ***** she was quoted $250 for the install, but Kacelyn also mentioned that she thought we might have to drill into the concrete. Our tech did not mention that in his completion notes - so he thought that we would be able to hand dig down and it would take roughly 2.5 hours to get the customer supplied sump pump installed.

Customer called back in on 1/16/25 and we set the appointment up to come back and install the sump pump on 1/23/25 - our technician started to hand dig the hole for the bucket and sump but then he hit solid rock. Our tech explained the situation to the customer and quoted her a price to jackhammer through the rock to get the bucket and sump pump properly installed. Customer denied, because she did not want to pay for it due to the fact that she was quoted $250. Which is what the estimate said, but unfortunately when it comes to digging under ground there are things that we cannot see until we get digging and this was the circumstance for this job.

Our technician completed the work to the best of his abilities with the circumstance he was in, as the customer did not approve the cost of jackhammering to install the pump at the depth that was wanted.
