    Car was towed due to traffic violation. Driver was put in jail and assigned power of attorney to get car out to stop the bleeding on daily storage fees. Driver just bought car and had not got title yet and impound lot will not give car to the power of attorney bc his name is not on title. He had bill of sale, receit of titling It was just bought out of state. The dealership had their attorney reach out and they will give car back to dealership in ******* with an astronomical tow and storage bill that has nothing to do with car. They have been paid by finance company and have no rights to car and they will let them take car back? This is unfair. The driver should have rights bc he did everything correct when purchasing the car.

    I am sorry I am late in responding to this complaint.  I have been out of town and just yesterday was informed of this situation.  The complaint was made by the mother of the driver of the vehicle that we were asked to tow by the Missouri Highway Patrol and the Camden *********************** on Sept 27, 2024.  The vehicle was involved in a high speed ***** through **************  In order to release the vehicle from impound, proof of ownership and proper identification is needed.  The driver and owner of the vehicle is still incarcerated and unable to produce proof of ownership.  The vehicle was pur*****d in another state and was never registered in the drivers name. Hence we we unable to release vehicle.  The driver issued a power of attorney to two people, neither one was his mother, your customer.  On October 17th, 2024 we received by email, a Illinois application for registration.  On that day we stopped the storage charges.  I notified your customer on Tuesday, Oct 22nd, 2024 that the tow bill and storage needed to be paid and the vehicle needed to be removed from Bledsoe Automotive Service, ***** property.  I this morning emailed your customer and said if the vehicle was not removed from our property storage charges will commence again beginning Friday October 25, 2024.  We believe had the vehicle been properly registered, there would have been no problems releasing the vehicle the day after it was impounded.
