Lack of price transparency: I have given Dobbs business for years; I’ve spent thousands of dollars in repairs in just the last year. Each time I’ve gotten work done at Dobbs, I receive a price breakdown of labor fees, part fees, etc that explains what I need to get done - whether I decide to get the work done that day or not. Additionally, the rep would walk me through each item so that I understand what it means and why I need it. On February 12, 2023, I brought my car in for a possible oil leak. Like usual, I dropped my car off and wait for a rep to call me with the diagnosis. He told me there was a leak and would cost $500 plus tax to fix. I asked for a price breakdown of all the items, he could not provide over phone. So I borrowed a car, to drive up to the shop to get the cost breakdown. When I go to the store, they provide me with a sheet with an end total of $500. I told him this ticket was not complete because I did not see the price breakdown like I usually do - I wanted to see what type and price of the oil they were going to use; how much for the parts to fix the leak, and labor fees before paying the money. The rep ******* said, “Sure like me get that from ****** (the service manager)”. He asked him for it and he said he will not provide. All of the work I’ve gotten done by Dobbs, I’ve never not received a cost breakdown and explanation of repairs. So, I am suppose to just accept a sheet with a total without transparency of how much the labor fees, parts fees (gasket, and oil change will cost. I feel that I was discriminated against. When I asked him why he could not provide, he told *******, “ Good luck, I don’t have time for this.” I’ve never heard of a business that don’t have time to make money. Again, discrimination as the women in front of me received her price breakdown and the rep added a discount to her ticket. If I receive no response from Dobbs, I will take legal action for unfair practices. It’s sad as I am a loyal customer.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: (1) Dobbs has not attempted to reach via email or phone and (2) This is clearly discrimination- unfair business practices.  I was told that by the Service Manager that he  would not provide an itemized quote, even though I saw him give the women in front of me an itemized quote ( a white women). So the fact, that the company ‘claimed’ that have provided an itemized quote- months later after I reported them to the BBB - is clearly shows this company does not care about a black client who has given them over $5000 worth of business over the past few years.
    Sincerely,
