I first contacted GGC Concrete in *********** MO ************ and spoke to *********************** in January 2024 about pouring a garage slab 30'4" x30'4" with a 10'x30' apron in front of the garage doors on the east side of the building. He gave a quote for the work and explained he builds houses in the ****** area so I thought he must be good at framing and pouring concrete so this small project should be easy. I requested a slight turn down for the garage doors and showed him the manufacturers drawings for detailed measurements. Rain and wet ground delayed the project until they poured the last week of February. The evening after he poured he was setting in our driveway demanding a final check before I could confirm the project was completed as previously discussed. Unfortunately, my wife paid him. I returned home the next day and found the concrete not level, not square, not flat as concrete slabs are supposed to be, etc. etc. When I spoke to him he tried to explain to me it was just an optical illusion on my part because they used a 12' level to do the job. When I explained my 4' level disagreed with his 12' level, it was obvious he didn't want to discuss it anymore. Instead of a slight turn down at the garage doors he gave me unfinished cups to hold water when it rains and freezes. They floated over multiple leaves that created leaf patterns all over the garage floor. It appears the guy using the float had never actually used a float before. I encourage everyone to stop by and look at this slab before hiring GCC Concrete to complete any concrete projects or houses. These guys can't even read a tape measure! But don't take my word for it. I will show you the slab and you can make up your own mind. They can't deny this was the first time this crew has ever worked with concrete, a float and setting forms. I wouldn't let them pour the slab under my air conditioning unit! And I'm sure they will not pay another contractor to demo and re-pour the work they were hired to do.
