    On 11/27/2022 went to SmartStyle Hair Salon for a light blonde balayage and cover gray hair. There is still some gray hair and color is darker than when I went in to salon. The stylists also cut my hair shorter than requested, I asked for just the ends, about an inch and 3-4 inches were cut off. Charged $155. I thought I had no choice but to pay—called back today to try and get them to fix it and make it lighter and cover all gray and was refused. I want a refund or to have service I paid for completed.

    Customer (******) came in asking for a platinum balayage and grey coverage. The manager explained they would not be able to reach the desired outcome but would be able to lift her multiple levels. Pictures were attached and shown the color was blended and lifted to a caramel blonde ( level 7) . Was told she can come back in for another session to lift higher. Her hair was not cut shorter than asked for and was still long when she left. She told the stylist she was happy with it and left a tip. ****** only called back one time to discuss the issue and was told she could not be refunded because nothing was wrong and the work was correct as discussed after the consultation.
    Hair color is not that simple and in some cases we have to apply colors multiple times due to the natural hair color or if it had been previously colored with a bright or dark color. We have to be careful and not damage the customers hair in the process.
    We regret the fact that the customer resulted in posting an issue with BBB but we were diligent in our professional services, consulted with the customer prior to the change, the customer appeared to be happy when they left and left a tip with the stylist.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    Of course I left a tip, I felt obligated to do so and my mom taught me to always tip.  When I left the location and was out of the florescent lighting I was able to see that the gray hair had not all been covered and the hair was not lifted and remained the same as when I went in.  I called next day to resolve the issue and was told nothing could be done because I didn’t call same day.  I am very disappointed and $150 is a lot of money to me and now can’t just pay someone else to do the job correctly.  My hair has been platinum before and should not have been an issue.  I will make sure never to go back and make sure I let everyone know of their poor customer service.
