    I tried to cancel my mom's policy after she died. After submitting her death certificate, they said I have to have the court probate documents, as well as other documents to close her account. My sister and I own the house since we were beneficiaries on the deed and the paperwork was submitted over a week ago for the transfer of ownership. They were rude when I contacted them the second time, completely forgetting that I had already contacted them about closing the account. My mom died in December, so the holidays and then a planned trip, took my energy away from dealing with this. I finally submitted the death certificate after trying to call the company. I was met by "as we told you in December" email. I responded that I forgot that I had reached out prior to receiving the death certificate. Their blatant disregard for my loss is disheartening. Charging my mother $600 a month for just homeowner's insurance is disgusting.

Per our last correspondence, cancellation was requested the same day, and the carrier issued a check totaling the overpayments made in December and January, which may have led to confusion about the cost of the policy.
