3/27/2025 I came in wanting to buy a portrait painting for an anniversary gift for my girlfriend. It was supposed to be a painting based off a picture of us. The guy in the store gave me the artists number to contact and I texted with her and had one short FaceTime call. Throughout this whole process I was under the impression I was getting a real painting. She referred in our texts to the print as a painting multiple times. I called her because it was getting close to me and my girlfriends anniversary and asked if she had started it yet. She told me she would get it done tomorrow and told me not to worry. She sent progress photos that looked like a real painting. When I went to pick it up it was already in a frame for me and I left thinking it was a real painting. The artist made me pay 45$ before and 45$ after which I should have taken as a red flag. I payed 90$ plus tax for a digital print that I could have made at ******* for less than 20$. She also gave me a second copy which I thought was weird because I figured she had just taken a picture of the real painting in case it was lost or I also wanted a picture of the painting. Never once was it conveyed to me that I was buying a fake painting and a digital print. My girlfriend is the one who noticed it wasnt real and we took it out of the frame and it proved our point. We tried to call and ask the lady for a partial refund for the misunderstanding and she started coming up with every excuse and asking us why we took it out of the frame in the first place. She was beyond rude to my girlfriend and wouldnt settle to give us a refund.

I talked to the consumer for 5 minutes and he wanted his digital painting picked up and framed in 2 1/2 days.  I told him it was $100 and he didn't pay half.  I asked for half up front.  He okayed them, loved it but his girlfriend that he gave it to didn't love it.  I gave him an extra print and drove a long way to deliver it to him.  He called me on a Saturday or Sunday night and he wanted it by Tuesday, framed and ready.  I wasn't in town.
