    In July 2013 I purchased a team autographed basketball jersey and display case from Nikco Sports which I was very happy with at the time. It came with a Certificate of Authenticity from Centerfield Sports and Nikco Sports. In December 2023 I decided to sell the jersey and display case because I was moving and downsizing. While I was trying to sell these items it was brought to my attention that the company that provided the Certificate of Authenticity no longer existed. I did some research and could not find any information on this company. It was like the *** they provided was fraudulent. I contacted Nikco Sports from whom I purchased these items and expressed my concerns. They provided a phone number for Centerfield Sports but no one ever answered or returned any of my calls. I contacted Nikco Sports again and they suggested I send it to PSA or ******* grading services at my expense which I did. It cost me almost $200 and they could not verify the autographs. I felt cheated and lied to. I trusted Nikco Sports and they would not stand behind a product they sold. Buyers of autographed merchandise from Nikco Sports beware. They purchase some autographed items from third parties that cannot be authenticated. I feel that if a company puts their name behind a product then they should stand behind it. I am very disappointed in the outcome and will never do business with Nikco Sports again. Anyone buying autographed memorabilia from Nikco Sports should double and triple check the actual company that authenticates them.

    4/9/24 - This customer purchased a jersey from ********************************************* in July of 2013. The customer was charged $599.95 for the jersey that he purchased from Nikco Sports eleven years ago. The customer has had the jersey that he had purchased from Nikco Sports in his possession for over eleven years and has never contacted Nikco Sports regarding any issues with the product.  Nikco Sports has no way of verifying the jersey that he is referencing in this complaint was even purchased through Nikco Sports as he collects memorabilia from many companies.  He may be confusing the jersey he purchased from Nikco Sports with one that he purchased from another supplier since he is stating the jersey in question he paid $1,300 for.  The attached invoice shows the jersey that ******************* had purchased from Nikco Sports was sold to ******************* for $599.95.

    We have spoken to this customer at length and most recently replied to his ****** review that he left us:

    **************, thank you for your review. Nikco Sports has been in business for over 30 years and we take customer service and authentication very seriously. The notes on your account show that you made a purchase from Nikco Sports over a decade ago. Our notes indicate that you are a collector and have interest in purchasing multi signed items and that you work with other companies as well to add to your growing collection. We show that we shipped the item you ordered to you and it was received over a decade ago.
    You contacted us recently stating that you felt that an item you believe you purchased from Nikco Sports is not authentic. As discussed, there is no way to confirm or validate that the specific item you are referencing came from Nikco Sports. There are numerous other companies, as well as **** sellers, that sell the specific item you are referencing. In addition, after ten years in a person's possession, Nikco Sports has no way of verifying that the item hasnt been tampered with, swapped with another item, or confused with an item purchased from another company.
    We sincerely apologize and our notes show that we have offered an in store customer service credit towards a future purchase in an effort of good faith.

    I tried to respond to the Nikco Sports response to my complaint twice but I was unable to process it. I do not accept their response. I have attached photos of the item in question and it matches their records perfectly. Their accusations that I could have had it altered or I purchased it somewhere else are absurd. Not everyone in this world lies and tries to run a scam. I pride myself on my honesty and integrity. I am 100% positive that I purchased this item from Nikco Sports and that no alterations were ever made to it. The response they provided is just their way of saying that its not their problem and I should just move on. The main reason I filed a complaint is to make other potential buyers aware of the situation and they should do their due diligence before purchasing autographed memorabilia from Nikco Sports. As for the service credit they say they applied to my account, this is the first time Ive heard about it. I dont even know what the credit consists of.

    Nikco Sports has been in business for over 30 years.  We pride ourselves on our customer service as well as our integrity.  Nikco Sports has donated more than $3.1 million dollars to charities across the country in recent years.

    We have responded to ************** when he called us, through his ****** review, and through the BBB complaint that he filed.  He has not accepted our response.  We have provided thorough documentation of an order he placed with Nikco Sports more than eleven years ago.  The jersey that he had purchased from Nikco Sports was sold for $599.  ************** appears to be confusing us with another company as he is making a claim for $1,300.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    $599 for the jersey, $300 for the display case plus shipping and handling and taxes for both, plus money spent to have ******* and PSA tell me they could not authenticate the jersey. Maybe my figure of $1,300 was a little high but the total costs out of my pocket were over $1,000. One thing I am absolutely positive of is that this jersey and display case was purchased from Nikco Sports by me. You keep deflecting from the issue by saying Im mistaken about the amount and that I purchased the item elsewhere. That is simply not true. If you want to make it right then offer to refund me the $599 plus tax and shipping for the jersey. Accept responsibility that you cant authenticate the jersey because you purchased it from a third party who no longer exists.
