    Respectful staff, yet vague communication, excessive pricing, misdiagnosis, and upselling throughout my experience with All Star overshadowed any courtesy.Summary:I brought my 2011 Dodge Journey to All Star Automotive after it broke down the same day the check engine light turned on. I left a detailed note explaining that the crankshaft position sensor had caused similar issues in the past, and requested a general diagnostic to see if anything else was wrong in addition. They performed two hours of diagnostics ($328 total), failed to identify the problem, and presented a $7,277 repair estimate that didnt address my original concern.Issues:No clear explanation of diagnostic charges up front ************** change at $175 Car broke down again immediately after picking it up (within half a mile)Only later did they identify the crankshaft sensor as the issue (the part I initially mentioned)They quoted ~$300 to fix it, which I declinedI had it repaired at another shop in ******** for $110 Other Concerns:Oil change light was not reset Second invoice contained incorrect info (e.g. claimed I drove to a dorm, which is inaccurate)Diagnostic and repair communication lacked transparency Resolution Sought:I am not seeking a refund at this time, but I would like the business to:1.Disclose diagnostic and labor rates up front in the future 2.Improve accuracy of service documentation 3.Avoid recommending unnecessary or unrelated repairs when a likely cause has already been provided

While Im glad to hear our team, especially ******, treated you with respect and professionalism, its clear from your detailed review that we missed the **** in other critical areas. At All Star Automotive, we are committed to transparency and integrity, and its disheartening to hear that you felt misled and taken advantage of. We strive to fix vehicles right the first time, and we back most major repairs with a 5-year, 50,000-mile nationwide warranty. However, that commitment only matters if we also earn your trustand in this case, its clear we failed to do so. Your frustration around the initial missed diagnosis of the crankshaft position sensor is completely understandable, especially after you clearly noted its previous involvement. While we do our best to replicate symptoms and isolate issues through ***-certified diagnostic procedures, not catching that problem the first time added unnecessary cost and time on your end, and for that, I sincerely apologize. Regarding the additional recommendations, we aim to provide a full picture of your vehicles condition when asked for a general inspectionbut that should never come at the cost of clarity or confidence in whats truly necessary. The breakdown of diagnostic charges and the way they were communicated also clearly caused confusion, and your feedback is a valuable reminder that we need to do better at explaining those charges upfront. Lastly, the small but impactful oversightssuch as not resetting your oil change light and inaccuracies on the final invoicereflect an attention to detail we absolutely expect from ourselves but clearly did not deliver in your case. We are not the cheapest shop in town, and we dont claim to bebut we strive to be honest, thorough, and committed to quality. While were disappointed you left feeling otherwise, we truly appreciate you taking the time to document your experience so we can learn from it and improve.
