I took my daughters car in for two recalls. There was a check engine light and I paid them to read it (bad choice for me. Most repair shops will read the code for a price, but waive the fee if you have them repair it. Apparently, dealers prefer to take your money as often as they can!) They fixed the two recalls, an extended warranty and the problem from the code. Cost to read the code and make the repair... $442.74. However, they came up with a list of other items we "needed" including 5 lights that were out for a total of almost $200. The full bill, if we had them make all the repairs, would have been over $1230! We checked the lights ourselves and did find two small lights that we fixed for less than $20. The rest WERE WORKING! Total scammers! I don't know if they do this to all their "customers" or if it's just the women. Next time it has a recall they won't get any additional money from me.

We were in the market for a Hyundai Ioniq 5. We checked and compared prices from several dealers in ************** (where we live). We had the thought that perhaps if we looked farther out from ************** we *might* find a lower price? We called and spoke with a salesman at Joe Machens Hyundai in Columbia, MO and, after a couple of phone calls, came up with a good price. Since we would have to drive two hours from our house to this dealership, I confirmed AT LEAST THREE TIMES what the price would be. I even asked for and received a text with the pricing break-down and the final price for the car. The text's price matched what was confirmed with the salesman again and again, so... great! We made the two hour drive to buy the car. We arrived and took a test drive and then sat down to buy the car. Surprise!! "Oh... oops... I made a mistake. The price is now over $7,000.00 more." WHAT?? Umm, NO. Time for a manager. The manager sat with us and confirmed that, "yes, the salesman made a mistake. Sorry but let's still sell you the car for the new, higher price!" You might imagine several of the four-letter words we wanted to say. Well, S**** That! We walked out of the dealership and fumed over this trickery for our two hour drive back home. So to anyone that wants to hear it, the warning is there! This dealership, knowing that you're driving a long distance to get there, sets up a BAIT AND SWITCH price with the hope that since you drove the distance you would go ahead and purchase the car. Now, knowing that the salesperson "made a mistake", you might think the manager would offer at least some sort of negotiation on the price? What a company might want to do to make things right after a proclaimed "mistake". ANY sort of consideration on the final price? ANY sort of compensation for a two hour drive and their mistake? Heck, how about fifty cents for a soda? A dime to buy some *****-*****? Something? Anything? Nope! Just smiles. Beware!

My experience started with a trade-in estimate on the *** website. When an estimate is requested, information is sent out to local dealers. When the salesperson from Hyundai called me, I told her specifically what I was looking for, from options down to a price point. An appointment was scheduled to look at the ******** and ******** on a Saturday. When we arrived to test drive, we were met with smiles and pleasantries and shown a Santa Fe within my price point, but the Palisade was well over the price range. During the test drive I was very blunt with the salesperson that I likes the Palisade but not the package I was driving as it was over my price range and had options that not only would I not use, but did not want. After the test drive we walked through the other Palisades on the lot with the salesperson and found one I liked in the package I wanted. The salesperson let me look at the vehicle inside and out and sent me a text with the full spec sheet for the vehicle. On Monday I sent a text to the salesperson asking how to get the ball rolling to purchase the Palisade in my price range and was told to bring my current vehicle by the dealership for a trade appraisal. After spending almost an hour at the dealership for the appraisal, I was told that the vehicle I wanted was no longer available (in hindsight, it was already spoken for when I looked at it with no disclosure of that from the dealer). Because it took so long for the appraiser to look at my car, as soon as his 10 minutes with it was done I left and asked them to call me with his appraisal. In that call I was told that my vehicle, which had just been serviced by an independent mechanic and is driven ******* miles per week, would need "extensive engine repairs to be re-sellable" and they tried to upsell me into a vehicle that was $8000-$10000 over my price range. As if the bait and switch wasn't bad enough, the scare tactic for my vehicle was the last straw for me. I won't be back.

We have a Service Agreement Extended Warranty and the service department refuse to call the 800 number to see what would be cover with my Extended warranty. The service department employee (**** ) was rude and condescending with the tone of his voice to the words he spoke.

Drove an hour to view used vehicle they assured me was available. Upon arrival it was not viewable as it was "in the shop". Arranged to pay cash and was assured the vehicle was reserved in my name. ****** committed to providing a video that night to show condition of the car. No video was received. Called the next afternoon and was challenged as to whether I truly intended to buy the car and was told I needed to sign papers. Informed the dealer that I didn't have anyone to drive the car home and they offered to drive it home for me and get a ride back. In retrospect this seems like an unrealistic promise. I made an appointment for the next morning anyway. On the drive over, called the dealership an was informed the ** had sold the car to a family member due to an "emergency". They later called my wife and told her that an earlier sale that didn't go through had been completed. When she pressed for details based on info from our previous visit the reply was "I just know it's no longer available". Fact is one of those conversations was a blatant lie. This feels like a bait car like you see at shady used car dealership where they post a car at an extremely affordable price and when you show up to the lot it "just sold" and they try to sell you something more expensive. Otherwise it is just bad business. Not following through with commitments, selling a car I was assured was reserved for me and making me drive a hour twice for nothing is extremely frustrating.Do better ********.This car was for my teen who is just getting his license. I am also in the market for a new car. At least ******** has done me the favor of eliminating Hyundai or any ******** dealer from my search. I would not recommend doing business with this company. If you chose to, then I would question any promises they make. Get it in writing. My experience is that they haven't followed through on anything. The sales manager looked me in the eye and shook my hand. Apparently, that meant nothing.

Short answer: I would not recommend doing business with them. I was advertised a car at two prices with ~$2000 difference. I called ahead and confirmed the lower price. Carpooled 45 minutes to the dealership. Waited approximately 15 minutes to see the vehicle, test drove, and then was told that the lower price was incorrect and they would not sell it for that. I refused their counter offer and left. I called two days later and counter offered for ~$1250 off. My offer was accepted and I was told I could pick up the vehicle at a specific time unless notified otherwise. Arrived at specified time only to be told that the vehicle had not been serviced and I would have to wait until the next day. Though, in fairness they did provide a full tank of gas to the person who had given me a ride to the dealership, and whose time they had also wasted. I received a call the next day that they had found serious mechanical issues with the car in servicing and would no longer be selling it. Staff were courteous, and the conciliatory gesture of gas for my ride was appreciated, but those cannot offset how much of my time has been wasted and trust abused. This has consumed 5-6 hours between reviewing the listing, phone calls, trips back and forth to the dealership, and time at the dealership. I had planned on buying the vehicle cash, but they have now lost customer because they could not sell what they advertised.
