I hired the owner, ***** *****, on 01/24/22 to put up a composite fence and build a new retaining wall around it as well which was supposed to be completed in about 5 weeks. At first, he showed up on time every day and had the retaining wall done very quickly. I was pleased with his work. After a few issues with the fence, everything was finally up for the fence, except the gate. This was probably about 6 months after the initial project started. I still do not have a gate up after more than a year. He has promised to come out and complete the job at least 15 times and never showed up. Then he doesn't answer his phone or call you back for weeks on end. He has also been nickel and diming me when/if he does show up, each time promising to finish the job but never actually doing it. I still also have blocks that need to be glued down on the retaining wall, painting to be completed and concrete blocks to be cut and set. He also started requesting to be paid in cash after the first few payments, so I am pretty sure that he is not claiming his earnings to the IRS either. He cannot retain employees and he always has an excuse why he can't finish the job. It would probably take about 4 hours to complete my fence but he just will not do it. I finally fired him today, however, I would like to see this project completed and he also has the hinges for the fence that I have already paid for in his possession. I also plan to file a complaint with the Attorney General and a criminal complaint with the St. Charles County Police Department if I have a case. If none of that works, I will sue him civilly. This has been a nightmare. I am out a total of $16,740 and I have documentation of every penny. Thank you for your time.

We originally bid her job to replace a wooden privacy fence that was 66 foot long.  We got in there.  We started taking out the old fence that was attached to a railroad tie wall, and it was all rotted and falling apart and it had to be replaced.  We got the block ordered.  We built the block wall, we got rock ordered, and one of the dump truck drivers backed into the pillar walls and that was fixed by the company.  The brick she used for the brick pillars are called old St. Louis Style brick.  The wall was completed.  We ended up tearing the other brick pillars, removed brick and cleaned up.  Once that was done we had to figure out new post to attach the privacy fence to and customer wanted all maintenance free.   The post had to be custom fabricated.  I had to get the other metal to weld on to the post.  prime, painted and install them, out of the eight post six post had to be have new piers put in, and then we put up the fence.  Customer added on a whole new section added on that was not there before.  The main structure of the fence was up but not gate.  Customer continued to add to the job.  We suppose to come back in 09/10/2023.  Customer stated that she did not have the money and to reschedule.  The gate is a custom gate.  This gate was going to be 300 plus lbs.  Over the winter I got the gate fabricated, I did not charge the customer for the first two gates.  I only charged the customer for one gate.  Delivered the gate to customer.  Customer wanted to raise the whole fence, I had to add another piece on to the gate, it was two days worth of labor.  I informed the customer that I would come back again because I had another job.  Customer paid for the fabricated gate and raising the fence.  The customer does not owe me anything nor do I owe the customer anything.
