Beginning in February 2024, I engaged Aramark Refreshment Services to handle all coffee bar items for a luxury new-development property in downtown ********. Aramark installed a Keurig Machine for coffee and a Bevi machine for water. Both machines were under contract (referred to as Contract 1) with Aramark. In approximately April 2024, I engaged Aramark to install a micromarket at the same location, under a new contract (referred to as Contract 2.) Contract 2 stated that the property is responsible for theft at a rate of 50% of the price of the stolen items. Theft began quickly in this downtown market, and after meeting requests made by Aramark (new security, staff creating pricing cards, new signage, etc) - Aramark made the decision to either: a) pull the market and terminate contract 2 or b) force the property to sign a new contract (referred to as Contract 3) which stated that the property would owe Aramark $1,500 monthly (never a part of Contract 2). I allowed Aramark to pull the contract at their request, and they immediately sent me a bill for $11,000. I called to dispute the charge because Aramark terminated the agreement, and within a week, Aramark entered our building unannounced and stole the coffee machine and Bevi machine referenced in Contract 1. When I called to speak to Aramark about this, they claimed that they did so because the office had refused to pay the $11,000 from Contract 2 - a totally separate agreement. This breach of Contract 1 in retaliation to the happenings in Contract 2 (which was breached by Aramark as well) is beyond unacceptable, particularly with no notice whatsoever.
