We agreed to pay this company to build and add a large swim platform onto our dock, along with the addition of a stiff arm and some large blocks on wenches for stabilization for a total bill of ***** dollars. He'd given us paperwork stating the expectation for us was to pay half of the amount up front, then a quarter of the amount when he delivered the platform then the last quarter upon completion. That was the end of 2021. The completion date was not written in his paperwork, as he played the good-ole-boy act and told us it'd be complete before summer for sure.We paid him half over a year ago, then another quarter when he brought the platform last spring (that has been tied to the side of our dock for nearly a year now because it is not right/ready to attach). It is a big hunk of junk sitting there all this time because it will not fit up against the existing dock and is crooked. We have had several email and text correspondence with him where he promises is going to make it happen soon, but nothing ever happens. We even went as far as to tell him we want our money back but he told us the parts are ours now. He used parts he'd had from another barge then took the wenches from another old dock and repurposed them and we gave him all of the concrete dock stones he's put on top. So he is hardly out any money, if at all.
