    On 1/24 i took my family of 7 to hidden valley ski resort. This was college night and tickets were to be 29$ and rentals $10. I made a phone call to customer service requesting clarification on the age and discount as the website states ages *****. In addition to 3 college students i also had highschool students. I called to make sure they were eligible for the discounted rate. I was told they were. I have proof of this 5 min call before i purchased tickets on 1/22. Had the other children not been eligible i would not have taken all of the children. Upon arrival i was told i had to pay full price in addition to the already purchased tickets. If i left i would forfeit the already paid money from the advanced discounted tickets i purchased. I asked to speak *** a manager and was refused. My options were to pay full price or leave. I ended up paying full price so my famiky could ski as we drove 1.5 hours there. I was very embarrassed in front of the 50 people behind us witnessing this. All in all i over paid $395. I would like that refunded.

    Formal Complaint Against Hidden Valley Ski and *********** (Vail Resorts******) Violation of Consumer Protection ***************** Refund Policies Dear Better Business Bureau,I am formally filing a complaint against Hidden Valley Ski and ***********, operated by Vail Resorts, ***** for failing to honor their refund policy and engaging in deceptive business practices under the Missouri Merchandising Practices Act (MMPA).Complaint Summary:On January 30, 2025, I requested a $332 refund for a private ski ******* snowboard rental, and lift ticket for ******** ******** due to severe weather conditions that made attendance unsafe. Hidden Valley Ski and *********** denied a full refund, citing their 50% cancellation fee for cancellations within 48 hours, despite:Unsafe Weather Conditions (Force Majeure): Hazardous weather made the ****** unsafe, yet the company refused to accommodate.Violation of Refund Policy: Their policy states full refunds are issued for illness with medical documentation, which I provided, yet they still denied my request.Incorrect Attendance Assumption: The participant never checked in, received a lift ticket, or interacted with the instructor, but the company falsely assumed she attended.Unfair Business Practices: Enforcing cancellation fees under these conditions is deceptive and violates MMPA protections.Attempts to Resolve:I contacted the company multiple times, provided medical documentation, and clarified non-attendance. They remained inflexible and refused a full refund.Request for Action:I urge the BBB to investigate and ensure Hidden Valley:Applies its refund policies fairly and consistently. Only pending refund $ ***** Accommodates force majeure conditions impacting safety.Honors its stated terms, especially for illness-related **************** held accountable for misleading and unfair business practices.I trust the BBB will take this matter seriously.
