The business has contacted me immediately after he received the complaint from the bbb.   Upset that I gave his address out.   Apparently it’s his home address.  I wasn’t aware I went with what was on my invoice.      The contractor claims to be working on the doors.    And continues to stall progress.    Last I talked with **** ********  was Saturday 1-27-24. Was informed my doors were going to be started on now that the last project is complete

We paid a $1400 down payment which was half of the total amount in October of 2021. The order was for 3 barn doors. One standard and 2 with glass in them. We were told that he was about 3 months out. The owner never once messaged us to keep us updated we always had to ask when we would get them. After several unmet promised dates we finally received our 1 standard door 12 months later in October 2022. We were then told we would have our remaining glass doors by thanksgiving. That date passed with again many excuses. April 2023 we told him we wanted our doors installed by the end of the month or we wanted a portion of our money back. He said he would get them done. We had paid half and only received 1/3 of our order so we want $465 refunded. Here we are middle of May 2023 and we still don’t have our order. The business owner has given up making excuses and proceeded to just ignore all contact we try to make. We have been overly patient and understanding but now that he won’t answer any of our messages we feel we have been officially robbed of our money. Our down payment receipt, and all text screen shots of every interaction can be provided.

We gave a down payment to the contractor on 5/23/22, I show that they cashed the check on 6/1/22. We have asked the contractor a number of times since then to complete the work or give us a refund. We were told that a refund wasn't possible because they had already purchased supplies and there was always excuses as to why the work couldn't be completed (teeth pulled, moving the shop, milling the wood). I offered the option to just show me the receipts of what had been purchased and that we would subtract that from what we already paid and take the supplies and our project to another contractor who has time, and he refused.
We have been considering selling the house, but would likely take a large hit without finishing this project. We also missed a prime selling market over last summer because of this.

I am rejecting this response because:

After the actions of the company and their vulgar responses, I no longer trust them to complete the work. I request a full refund of the $1,250 that was put down on this project, plus to cover my lawyer fees of $390 that were used to try to get a response from the business.

I'm unable to secure services from Campbell Wood Designs and cannot get a refund for work not started. I am seeking full refund of $500.00 paid by personal check to **** ******** on 6/16/2022. Due to the time that has lapsed since the job was bid to renovate a bedroom window seat into a storage unit, and the failure of ** ******** to schedule the remodel job after I reached out to him twice over a period of 6 months, I no longer have confidence in his ability or intention to provide the previously agreed upon remodel job. No services have been performed on my behalf by this company.
