    I signed up for a gym membership and everything went great besides a few things like them charging me a “enhancement fee” on a few occasions but when it came time to cancel i went to the business in person about a month and a half before cancellation and told them i wanted to cancel they told me that i couldnt and to come back at a later date so when i did they said i had to have signed a 30 day notice and that now that i havent given them one i am responsible for paying 30 days of service after my contract ends but they had never told me about this when i came to them a month and a half before my issue is how dishonest they are with what is in their contracts and how predatory their contracts actually are i just want a refund for the 30 days after my contract has ended because it is a gym membership why on earth would they need a 30 day notice if i am canceling and why did they not have me sign this when i came in to talk with them

    We
    have had a complain made against us by one of our members
    that we would like to respond to.
    ************* is a
    member of ours. He
    signed his contract March
    23rd of 2022, he received a free month at the beginning, which made his
    expiration date: April 23rd,
    2023. We
    have traditional contracts which you can not cancel until it expires, you
    are responsible for all payments with the dates of your contract. All
    this is documented on
    the contract itself, and a copy is given to the member when they
    sign-up. You can cancel early/before your contract expires, but an early cancellation fee is
    applied. When ***** wrote his complaint he was still under contract,
    and owed us money. He also has three other members on his account, so
    his biweekly dues are on the higher end. We still do paper contracts,
    and all of this is well documented. We have attempted to help him in every way we can. We
    have offered to waive thelate fees for him and
    offered to take a payment off all together. He
    has been given all the information through every form of
    communication. He is refusing to pay what is owed, and we seem to be
    at a stand-still. We will continue to reach out and help the best
    that we can. Our hope it resolve this issue.
