The vehicle was impounded by the St. Francois County Sheriff's Dept.  The vehicle was a rental car.  When the person the car was leased to called about getting the car out, the person was told we would need copies of the valid rental agreement and the person's ID so that the car could be released to him since it was a rental car.  The person it was rented to was able to get Hertz to email him an updated current rental agreement.  As soon as he provided a copy of the valid rental agreement and paid the amount due, the car was released to the rightful person that was legally responsible for the car according to ***** ****** per rental agreement ** *********.  The legal renter of the car did not request a copy of the receipt.  After he exited our office 2 of his passengers remained in the lobby and began cussing our employee and accusing us of stealing items from the van.  The legal renter of the car did not make any such accusations and was not a problem in any way.  Our employee told the passengers if anything was missing from the car, they would need to take that up with the St. Francois County Sheriff's Dept.  After the legal renter got the car out, the passengers that is making this claim called the office back twice using vulgar language and demanding to know the name of our employee that asked him to leave our property and making all sorts of threats and claims about what happened.  I assured him that it was all on camera as our lot and our office have security cameras.
