Awful service, lack of communication, and unnecessary delays in resolving problems. We contracted with United to move our belongings from the ******* area to the ****** area. The service provider lost track of our shipment and was unable to tell ** where it was and when it would arrive. It ultimately arrived three days late. When seeking compensation for late delivery, following guidance provided by the company, we have yet to hear back from them regarding what is covered and how to apply for recovery.Amazed that this is a logistics company.UniGroup

Mayflower Van Line moved me to CO last October from NC. They lost two pieces of my furniture and damaged several other pieces. They also damaged my Jeep transporting it to CO. I submitted a detailed claim to them early in January of 2022. After several months of negotiating with them, they offered me a settlement which was completely inadequate. I was very angry because my driver said he had located the two pieces of missing furniture — both with a broken leg that he promised to have repaired. He told me he would return them to me by the end of November, and they would be like new. He never did return them, and he stopped answering my calls. I have emails back and forth with Mayflower/Hilldrup about *******’s promise to return those two pieces.
When I did not accept Mayflower’s settlement, they turned my case over to UniGroup and said I needed to go to Arbitration. To me that meant that I was going to need a lawyer, who I cannot afford. It seems as though all along, Mayflower has been pushing me further and further away —- first Mayflower, then Hilldrup, and then UniGroup. They have distanced me from them and their responsibilities to me. I am extremely dissatisfied with Mayflower, Hilldrup and with UniGroup. Please help me!

1 starOur move occurred in June of 2022 and was a disaster. We paid nearly $15,000 for our cross country move, and didn't receive all of our items for TWO MONTHS. Day of our move the driver informs us that he cannot accommodate our entire move. He said he could take the necessities but not much else as the customer before us was a few thousand pounds over their estimate. He was surprised that we were unaware as he had called Mayflower/Unigroup a day in advance to let them know...no one informed us. Nor did anyone from Mayflower/Unigroup call us day of our move (not even our move coordinator, ***********************) and we could not reach them whatsoever. Luckily the driver was able to reach someone and the rest of our items were picked up the following day. However, what we didn't know was that just because our items were picked up, did not mean that they were being transported. Instead all of the items sat in a warehouse for nearly two months until Mayflower/Unigroup was able to find a driver (which only happened after we contacted their lawyer). As for delivery: the first truck arrived on time, but without ANY necessities. We received Christmas decorations, garage storage, one mattress and one couch. No clothing and no crib or baby items that we needed for our 5 week old infant. The second truck load came nearly two months after they were picked up. During this entire process *********************** (move coordinator) did not reach out to **, we would call every day and there was never an update. She also would not call back when she said she would. I felt as though no one was helping. Once we got in contact with the general counsel and ********************* (customer service), we finally started to get some movement on our move...but we shouldn't have had to go to that level when paying so much. Also to note, we had significant damage to our furniture once it arrived. All in all we received some compensation, but not nearly enough for two months worth of accommodations and necessities.Review fromJessica C.

1 starAn absolute nightmare company to deal with! We hired them to move us from ** to AL for the low price of $13,000. Items were packed up on 6/6/2022 and loaded onto the moving truck on 6/17. Our furniture was scheduled to arrive between 6/20/22 and 6/29/2022. On 6/27 we received word that they had no driver to deliver our stuff. At this point , we had already paid for a storage unit for **** and July. They did agree to hold our stuff in a climate control area (not sure I believe it really was) until we closed on our house that we had thankfully found in the interim. When our things finally did arrive, the first several items off the truck were ruined or destroyed. A $1400 ************************** stand that the legs were literally ripped off and completely unusable. A year old!! ** dryer that had the top dented in and clearly had something extremely heavy set on top of it. It thankfully still worked, but an essentially brand new dryer looked like c*** now. The matching washer appeared unharmed from the outside, but when it was plugged in to finally do laundry....it didn't work. We filed a claim immediately about the washer, dryer and entertainment stand for a total amount just under $6,000. They agreed to pay for the full replacement of the dryer (849 because it was on sale, but we paid **** so whatever). They denied the washer because the inspector they sent out claimed it "worked" (which it does sort of, but it is a top load without an agitator). Before the move, you couldn't even tell it was on and now it sounds like an airplane is flying above the house every time it gets to the end of the wash cycle. The $1400 stand that was destroyed was offered a "comparable" one at $337! HAHA After months, we finally "settled" our claim on Dec 2, 2022 for $2000. For the price we paid and what was supposed to be a painless process, it was far from that. We will never use this company to move and I will never recommend them to anyone!! Save your SANITY and move yourself!Review fromMichael S

1 starPredatory business practices at Unigroup and United Van Lines and their local agent, ********************************/Blue Chip, flows from top down and even reaches to the receptionists answering calls. Do not use United Van Lines or their local agent ******************************** if you value your belongings, your departure home, or your destination home. Our move in June 2022 was one headache after another because we trusted United Van Lines since we have had positive moves with them in the past. ******************************** use their affiliation with United Van Lines to get business, then destroy your belongings, and slap you in the face on their way out. The movers and packers were unprofessional to say the least. Their packing crew only packed our home for a few hours, leaving over 50% unpacked. After multiple discussions with the sales person, one packer showed up on the day of the move who threw items in boxes without any packing materials, resulting in damaged and shattered items. The movers incessantly bickered and argued while disassembling and moving our furniture. Their hostilities got worse as they broke multiple pieces of our furniture. When the disaster that was our move finally came to an end, we were forced to initial and sign a one-page paper with an illegible font size. We objected signing multiple times as we could not read the document. The female mover forcefully stated that she and the two male movers who remained with her would not leave until the document had been signed, pushing the paper over to us and pointing her pen tip to the areas requiring our signature. We had three strangers in our house demanding at 8:00 PM PST to sign a document we cannot read predatory business practices. We even contacted United Van Lines. They refused to do anything to remedy the situation they contributed to putting us in.Review fromTyler G

Do not ever, ever, ever, under ANY circumstances give them your contact information. Since requesting a quote for a move I have told FOUR people from their company, all calling from spoofed numbers, to stop calling me. I now have over 300 unread emails. 90% of those are new spam emails. One of the worst decisions I ever made was giving them any information about me. Maybe now Ill finally get some peace.UniGroup

When we contracted with United, we told them of the likelihood of needing storage for a period of time. We were assured that would not be a problem, that we only needed to let them know the exact delivery date and everything would be delivered on that date. When the furniture was delivered, the driver eventually told us that not all of our goods were on the truck. Even though everything was packed into one truck originally, United decided to divide our goods and deliver them in two shipments with no specified date for the balance of our goods. This was never mentioned as a possibility. It took about two weeks before they finally delivered the rest of our goods. When our goods did arrive, there were many crushed and damaged boxes. Wood table ends were damaged and scratched. The first item off the truck - a ****** Price Play Kitchen was cracked and broken. This shows very poor handling, with little or no respect and consideration for our property. The second delivery was only a driver. He had to move everything himself. If anything was too large or heavy, he just had to do the best he could moving the items. No mats, runners, or floor coverings were put down to protect our floors, carpets, and walls for the second delivery. Aside from not keeping us informed of what to expect, they never mentioned the possibility of two separate shipping dates. Their attitude was one of this is the way it will be. Not knowing what was happening, and the condition of our property when it arrived, just added unnecessary stress and aggravation. I would certainly never use this carrier again.UniGroup

1 starOur cross-country move with **** l/Mayflower started wellgood team of efficient movers showed up on time and worked smoothly. But then we drove to our new home and **** put our belongings in a warehouse in ******* where they have been for almost a month. We are almost a month from our pickup date and two weeks past the end of the delivery window with no delivery planned yet, In fact, our Kato agent, has expressed no solid idea of how they will move our belongings to us. The agent has apologized repeatedly when I call but never calls us. They offered us the option of filing a delay claim for $100 per day late but that is only available once delivery is completed. Its very little compared to the inconvenience they have caused us. We reserved this move two months in advance, so its hard to see why they could not reserve a truck. Why take a job you cant complete? Unclear how we will get our belongings back from ****, delivered to our new home, or if legal action will be required so we can hire a different company to move our items.
