I signed a contract with **** Williams on 8/4/2023 to replace my roof on a building on the back of my house. It has been over a year and the project is still incomplete. The total price of the contract was $56,000 dollar with ****** dollars up front. **** Williams, however, failed to show up to start the project as he said he would. After some months I was very worried, I finally got hold of him. He texted back on November 1st, 2023. He came by my house and said he was taking his family on a cruise, was arrested coming home from ****** and was jailed in ********* (I dont know why he was arrested). After he started the project in early December 2023, he said he had no money to buy the materials. He asked me for a $9,500 dollar advance on the final payment to buy materials for a total of 37.5K. The materials were sent. He started in Dec. of 2023 and removed my roof. He found termite damage on my trusses and on one side of my building. He asked for another $5,500 dollars to order trusses, fix them, repair the side of the building and for a crane to lift the trusses. ****** came and after many attempts to get my project completed, he texted me he had started a complete house rehab and would do mine next. After he did not show up as promised and his many NON responses to emails, I finally told him that Aug. 9th was the deadline. He texted me on the morning of Aug. 9th saying he was coming by. I told him not to come by without his crew. He came by anyway and wanted to talk to me directly. I told him I wanted everything in writing. In our texts he suggested I needed to get a crane and made other silly suggestions to stall in completing my project. He texted that he would complete the project in 30 days and that he would have someone come by on Tuesday at around 11 A.M. but didn't say who was coming by. After many of his promises that were not kept, I told him I was making a complaint. I signed a contract over one years ago and gave him $43,000 dollars to date.

The customer was correct about everything he has stated. The reason for the project taking so long to complete was some personal issues I was dealing with. At the start of the project, once materials were delivered I started,  to remove the roofing materials.  What I didn't expect was to have all the support trusses and support walls damaged the way they were.  I did however get the trusses and the roof installed on the property.  I'm scheduled to go back to complaints home and finish the project starting next week. At which time once done, complaintant would remove his complaint about  my company. Also the sum of $43,000, was used for materials, removal of old roofing shingles,  old truss, old cedar planks and ceiling insulation,  along with labor and disposal of all said materials.
