I contacted this company to do a home repair. I gave them a deposit of $30500. On 11/29/22, they came to begin their services. I was not aware of this. They left my key in my front door and my lockbox was open. I continued to have issues with them. I asked the president to cancel the contract and refund my money. He refused to cancel and refund my money. I drew up a contract termination agreement and sent it to the company.

    To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing in regards to the Notice of Contract Termination letter. Submitted by ******** ******************* on December 05, 2022. Regarding the property located at **** ***** **** *** ***** *** *****.

My name is ******* *****, the Owner of One Stop Home Repair located at **** ****** *** ********** *** *****. Ms ******** and I established a contract on Sunday, November 27, 2022. Work began on the home on Monday, November 28, 2022.

Per the contract Ms. ******** agreed to have the deck rebuilt and debris removed from the property. On November the 28th, I had the large debris container delivered. I informed Ms ******** that I would start on the outside of the home to beat the winter weather and she agreed. Later that night we communicated and she stated she wanted me to start on the inside of the house so she could return to her home. I explained to her I had two crews one could work on the inside while the second crew work on the outside, once again to beat the winter weather. She stated “you mother f****** work for me and you are going to do what in the **** I asked you to do!” Communication with her in the p.m. hours were always controversial and filled with profanity and insults. It was she who made the work place hostile.

On the 29th before beginning work in the bedroom I asked her if she wanted to keep any of the items in there. Some items were not destroyed by fire but did have smoke damage. She told me to discard it. Later that afternoon one of my employees received a phone call saying his brother was in an accident 5 minutes from his location, his car was totaled and it looked bad. Filled with fear for their family member safety they rush to the accident site forgetting to lock the door. They were there no more than 15 minutes. After the family member was rushed to the hospital, they returned to the job site to find the door lock and the keys gone. They went to the back of the house and restarted cleaning the backyard.

That night when taking to Ms ******** she stated that she had several ***** purses missing out of her bedroom and wanted them returned or replaced. {I believe she saw the incident of the key in the door as a way of getting over.} She then went on to ask who told us to remove her things out of the bedroom? I reminded her that I she said to discard them. I told her I would have the employees to go threw the dumpster and bag everything that was taken out of the inside of the house, and put it back. Which they did the following morning.

********* sent a video to her showing all of the clothing and items that was in the house before work began. The video showed all of the contents in her house from room to room. Inside of closets and draws. There were no purses seen on the video or found in the dumpster. She began texting me saying “**** you, ***** I anit scared o u bring it cracker **” I notice she didn’t mention any missing items in her letter. Ms ******** often said do one thing and call back after we started the work to say don’t do it. She often forgets about conversations that took place the following evening when she was drunk.

Ms. ******** never mentioned wanting a service contract. I have never laid eyes on this contract before today.

As far as me working with the adjuster from *********, Ms ******** is truly mistaken. Like many contractors in MO, I monitor my scanner for fires and go to the location with the hopes of meeting the property owner or leaving my business card. I have a working relationship with many first responders some of whom recommends me for jobs.

As far as her not being informed who I am working with. I’ve never had to give a client the name of my workers. I understand her wanting to be informed of everything being done ahead of time. Which I do with all of my customers, but her not recalling our conversations has made this very difficult.

I have been in business for over 34 years and have a great a very good reputation with the BBB. I have never try to defauld a client and work very hard at making sure they are pleased with my work. I am more than willing to complete the job up to the amount paid. I would like to opportunity to rectify this situation and save my reputation.

Ms. ******** was well aware that she had 3 days from the day the contract was signed to cancel the contract. She waited until the fourth day to do so. It is she who is in breech the contract.

    Customer Answer

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

There are no termination guidelines listed in the contract. There is not even anything acknowledging anything at all about 3 days of anything.
I am not happy with One Stop Home Repairs after only 1 day on the job.
Mr. ******* ***** is not being openly honest or truthful.
I want my deposit refunded in a form of a company check.
I will never continue business with a services that causes me/my home stress and open to danger.
Just the fact that Mr. ******* would want to continue a unhealthy, toxic working relationship for monetary gain raises a red flag.
    Thank you

    Sincerely,

    ******** ****************
