    hired Chip Smith mid February 2023 to repair closet floor, walls, ceiling, painting in closet and entire room, including woodwork & adding shoe mold, install 3 light fixtures and kitchen sink faucet in kitchen, replace ceiling fan in living room. $600 total cash paid ($300 cash paid for flooring, ceiling fan, 3 light fixtures and faucet. $200 cash for drywall and carpentry supplies, shoe mound. $100 cash for labor) Work was started March-closet torn out, some drywall done in closet. **** then contracted COVID & did not work for 2 weeks. He started again and worked a total of 14 hrs from 3-31-23 to 4-7-23. Then he left for **********, and did not return until 4-14-23. On 4-17-23 he was sick again. No word from him until 4-26-23. On 4-30-23 he had car trouble/repair. On 5-2-23 he agreed to be here to work on 5-4-23. He was a no show, did not reply to my text on 5-5-23. Heard from him on 5-10-23, I told him I was done and wanted all items I paid for plus receipts immediately. He begged me to give him a chance to earn back my trust, would finish job in 3 days. I agreed. He came back 5-10-233 hrs worked. 5-11-23approx hours 4-5 hrs worked(started at 9:30, left about 5-however, he made 4-5 trips to get supplies and 1 trip lasted 2 1/2 hrs, and made about 25 trips to his car looking for tools, etc. on 5-12-23 I received a text that he was sick and would be here asap. Text received at 1:30 pm that he was not coming. I fired him by text 5-12-23 and demanded to receive my ceiling fan, flooring, shoe mold, and ALL receipts for fixtures, supplies, etc by deadline Sunday 5-14-23. As of 5-15-23 I have no response. After 3 months I have 1 kitchen faucet replaced & closet torn apart with minimal closet repairs. I have 2 dangling light fixtures, an unusable closet and room, plus a few messes to clean up. I have no receipts for anything he purchased, and he has not delivered some the items I paid for.
