Got into a written agreement with ***** ******** - Paid him $1850. Due to ***** constantly changing his requirements and asking for more funds we did not do business. He has constantly lied since Aug, 2022 and would not return my down payment. NO WORK WAS DONE. ________ Please confirm that you are okay with this and I will send the down payment. Main Driveway tear, haul away, and repour. Stairs - injection, straighten, then skim - $5200 Main Driveway: Permit - $650 Side Pad with Bush Removal going from the small wall till the first pad - $1200 Total: $7050 Due today for permit and down payment: $1850 Start Date is August 26th. Driveway and Stairway Completion August 29th. Pad Completion: August 31st. _______________ After I sent the down payment of $1850 I called the city to verify how much a driveway permit was and no one at the city knew why it would cost $650. The permitting department said it was at most a $100 but they have never seen that. After the $1850 he asked for ANOTHER $2200 but could not produce evidence on why he needed the funds. I pointed out the contracted and asked him why he thought I would pay ~40% of the cost up front. He said it was a verbal commitment we made. We agreed this would not happen and decided to move on. After this incidence he asked for another $800. This time I sent it through PayPal goods and services and he would not start the job until the transaction went through and he got the $800 paid - I told him due to his lying I will not pay him any cash without "goods and services". We disagreed, I told him I cannot continue business because he had constantly lied about all our agreements (timing, permits, down payment). We mutually agreed he would send me the $1850 back and he would not complete the job for me. Since then I had multiple days/dates he told me he would pay me the money but hasn't. In fact he asked me to send him MORE money to pay me back.
