Approximately a year ago, I purchased a new central heat and air conditioning unit. A part owner in the business, ***, came to my home. He explained several units to me. The unit I was interested in was described as a 21 seer unit, that was the most efficient available. It was said to be in constant two-way communications with my thermostat and the outside part of the system. The item was delivered and installed a few weeks later. There was an immediate problem with the system as the promised thermostat was not installed. I began complaining about this and communized with them several times. They eventually sent me a check for $400 to cover the cost between the promised thermostat and the one eventually installed. I did not cash the check because I thought that there was a bigger problem. I eventually found that the reason that the originally ordered thermostat was actually designed to work with system that I was promised. The system that was installed was a 20 seer unit that worked with the cheaper thermostat that I received. I believe that Aire Serve realized their error and was attempting to place the focus on the thermostat rather than the system which was not the one that *** described to me. I feel as if Ive been cheated by the Jefferson City Aire Serve. The current system has now failed twice, the second time yesterday. I contacted them this morning and found that they would not repair my system until three days later. It seems for their convenience, not mine. It is currently 82 degrees in my home and extremely uncomfortable. And, I was advised that even though the heat such that it ease, I was to be charged $80 just to have someone come to my home fix what is essentially a new system. Adding insult to injury after installing a system that I did not want. Use extreme caution when dealing with this company, and in particular if you are dealing with *** who, as I said, is a co-owner of the company.
