On 11/14/2022 I submitted a claim #********** with Allstate Insurance regarding damage to my garage ceiling that leaked during a storm. The claims adjuster came a few days later and I showed him the damage to my garage ceiling. I explained how 4-5 ceiling tiles had rotted and came down on car and floor and told him my husband and I put the tiles back up so we could park in it.I asked him if he wanted me to leave the garage door open and he said no and that he was getting up on the roof. He went on roof and inspected it. He then said he had everything he needed and said someone would be calling me with his results. Within a day or two ******* ********* called me and said my claim was approved for a total roof replacement in the amount of $7592.42. She said $5939.68 was being sent now and I would pay $500 my deductible and the last $1152.74 would be sent to my account upon completion of roof. She said they do that in case I don’t get the work done. I said I am definitely getting the roof replaced because I do not want the rest of my house to leak the way my garage ceiling is. She said “did you say leak- there’s nothing on report about leak”. I said “ that’s what my claim was about and it needs to be on there. She said it’s too late and money was already sent to my account.I was shocked. She said for me to get ceiling job added with contractor and have them submit for it. The roofing contractor does not do interior work. I feel my claim was very rushed and incomplete. My ceiling needs fixed. I have tried emailing my agent Jason ParK numerous times about questions concerning my policy in general and let him know that no one was responding to my emails but he never responded. I got an apology from a girl named ****** stating she was sorry she didn’t respond to 3 of my emails. I have no faith that my agent will help me with my concern about my claim. Please help me as this experience has been confusing and unpleasant. I’m disabled and don’t want taken advantage of.
