I bought a car On September 3 from TD brokers. Exactly 2 weeks later I had to take the car in because it was making a horrible sound from the motor. The diagnostic came out that it was a bad motor and it needed to be replaced. I paid 20 grand for the car and to replace the motor would be between 16 and $10,000. I notified the dealership of this I asked for my money back or either a replacement car and I was told I was liable to replace the motor.

    To whom it may concern:

Customer **** ******* purchased a 2015 Cadillac Escalade from TD Auto Brokers on Sept 4th, 2024.  He arrived at the dealership with his mother and his friend (mechanic) and test drove the vehicle for over 45 minutes.  He returned from the test drive and decided to purchase the vehicle.  He asked that we appraise his 2014 Jeep.  He offered $15k trade difference and said if we could get to his numbers, we'd have a deal.  We explained that we provide a 30 day/1,000 miles powertrain warranty included in the price.  We also offered the customer an extended warranty from an outside vendor.  The customer refused the additional warranty.  As a matter of fact, he even asked if we'd lower the price if we sold it to him AS-IS.  I explained that there was no cash value to our 30 day warranty, rather just a small piece of confidence to let our customer's know that we stand behind what we sell (albeit only 10%).  Anyway, at some point later, the customer called and said that his vehicle was in a Cadillac shop in Topeka.  He took it to the shop because he thought it was running poorly.  They recommended that he replace the entire engine!  I asked the obvious questions:  Did you get a 2nd opinion?  Did the vehicle stop running?  Did they give you a copy of the Repair Order Estimate?  He has not forwarded me a copy of the RO.  He refuses to get a 2nd opinion.  And he was able to drive the vehicle into the shop and according to the customer, it could still be driven.  He demanded that I pay ************ ******** approximately $14000 for a new engine!  I told him that was not remotely close to reality.  Again I asked for a copy of the RO.  He has not yet provided that to me.  I reminded him that he refused the "extended warranty" that was offered to him.  However, he still has a 30 day limited warranty that we provided to him free of charge.  He said that wasn't good enough and that he wants a total refund.  I told him that could not happen.  But I will live up to the letter of the warranty, which is 10% parts and 10% labor for any powertrain issues, providing that the mileage was under 1,000 miles from the date of purchase.

    Respectfully,
