We hired them to design and cut wood for a custom timber frame house. This was contracted July of 2023. With promises of three separate loads of wood and the house to be built ( builder to be contracted by us) and under roof by the following December 2023. We got our first load in October promises of the second load with excuses lasted until February February 2024 when we finally got our second load because of excuses and unwillingness to have proper communication with the company, we were unable to get a builder scheduled to build for the house due to the supplier (******* owner of Schutt log homes) not giving us the materials as promised. We decided to cut our losses in February 2024 and cancel the third shipment, although it was never scheduled and was never cut to be delivered. We are now left without a house to build and an incomplete amount of wood to build a house. Upon conversation and email with the owner of the business, he offered no resolution except for to wait for the third shipment and pay in full or cut our losses and cancel the third shipment. we chose that route because we could not trust him and we did not have a builder at that point because of his actions.

Schutt Log Homes strives to keep our customers happy. We sent the first truck of material to this customer 2 months earlier than the contracted date. The contract stated the 1st delivery would be the week of 11/23/23. The first truck was sent on 9/28/23, 8 weeks ahead of schedule.
The second truck came on 2/8/24. This truck was 45 days late. Schutt Log Homes apologizes for the delay, but as outlined in the contract (on page 2), weather conditions significantly impact our production, affecting both our mill operations and the logging activities required to procure timber. For the safety of our employees, mill operations are suspended if daytime high temperatures fall below 20 degrees.
Regarding the final load of material, it was not sent because they never paid for it. Schutt Log Homes invoiced on 2/12/24 The customer chose to cancel the contract on 2/20/24. This was only 12 weeks after the contract date.
The contract signed; also states we will try to send a truck every 2-3 weeks. We were only 4-6 weeks behind. In the construction world, this is completely within acceptable limits.
Schutt Log Homes was surprised the client chose to cancel the contract after they had received 2/3 of the project and the final load was to be shipped within the next 2 weeks. It is apparent the customers did not have a clear understanding of the building process and how the construction industry is currently booming, making it difficult to find contractors.
Schutt Log Homes remains committed to fulfilling the contract and is prepared to send the remaining materials to complete the kit as agreed upon.
