The owner of this business was driving by the area of my home in which my dog had became loose from my property. The business owner stated over the phone that she chose to chase my dog for 2 hours until capturing him. After running him down, forcing him into her car she then transported him to her business at Timberland Pet Ranch. After arriving at her business location at ***** ***** ******* ** Kirksville, MO she exercised gross negligence by injecting my dog with vaccinations without consent or previous medical history. Neither owner gave permission for the dog to be transported to this business or to be serviced (vaccinated) through the business. After contacting the business owner through social media she refused to return the dog and kept him at the business location. The authorities have been notified. She furthermore denied to return the dog after establishing ownership stating she has presumable legal authority to hold the dog until documentation of her choosing is provided because she is the president of the field of dreams rescue that is a non profit organization. I served 9 years as military police, 2 years of which were overseas in war territories and I am disabled veteran today. Our dog ******* is his outlet to ease PTSD and to provide comfort. Local law enforcement has declared the dog stolen. We are filing a stealing and harassment case with our local court today after gathering the remaining witness statements. Also, seeking advice of the MO attorney general regarding the actions and falsifying legal authority to withhold an animal with an established owner. I would like to add that her behavior over the phone was completely unprofessional and unacceptable. Note: this is not within city limits, it is in a county with no leash laws or dog ordinances. Currently, my dog is still at her business with no resolution until we can get further assistance from the county sheriff.
