  I purchased a new poontoon boat from Bass Pro which was the first time I've ever purchased a boat. The sales person offered a cover for my new boat which was from Dowco costing a whopping **** dollars. I asked why so much for a cover? He went over it building it up and mentioning the five year warranty and custom fit. I didn't know anything about covers so I agreed to it. Well I have had a few clips breaking in the first year probably under 5 dollars to replace which they immediately replaced. Well know we had some rain and wind and 1 of the poles ripped the cup through the cover. I sent pictures to the Suntracker bass pro service dealer which they sent to Dowco. The dealership called me and said it's under warranty less than 4 years old, and I paid the 25 dollars or so for shipping they would repair it. I took it to them and dropped it off so they could send it to Dowco for repairs. The next day the dealership called me back and said they had changed their minds and wasn't going to repair it. I asked them to forward me the email and I would give them a call. This is the email "Hi Rturner,I am sorry, I just saw the other photo. It appears that water pooling on the cover is what caused this to pull out.We do not cover water pooling under warranty. **************** number ******** called them myself and talked to a so called supervisor and explained it is a cover that should hold up in the weather that's the whole purpose of it and not only that I paid **** dollars. We talked and she at one point told me to file it under my home ownrs insurance which is really ridiculous. This is a supervisor might I add. I think it really would cost them probably under 20 dollars to sew the cup back onto this boat cover . She then said she would have some one else to lay eyes on it and call me back. Still waiting for the call. Horrible customer service. People Budge Covers offer covers for 1/3 the price 12 yrs warranty Thanks

  The boat cover warranty is a joke. I had my cover on for less than one year. They stated that it has a five year warranty The cover was covered with a all-weather tarp for the winter. Upon return to the location that the boat was stored we found that the cover had torn where the windshield is located. I repaired it and continued to use it. When i contacted Dowco. They asked for pictures which i provided showing the damage prior to repair. Multiple times they asked for the cover be sent back so they could see the damage. I repeatedly told them that it had been repaired. After much back and forth it was decided that I could pay them close to ****** more on a ****** cover to get it replaced. What a concept, I would then have ****** in a cover that probably won't perform any better than the last one that tore in less than one year. The weight of the canvas that the cover is made of is very poor. The snaps have also pulled out. I would look for a different company for boat covers.
