We closed on our home built by IHB on August 24th 2023. There was a signed amendment by both parties to complete the stair carpet replacement as the builders installed the incorrect carpet but we agreed to close on time and they would install the correct carpet within 45 day of the 8/24/23 closing date. It has now been 88 days and the builders are giving us the run around. They have told us on two different occasions the carpet was in and then they back tracked and said there was an error and the carpet was not yet in. They were responding to us but are now back to not responding and putting off the installation with a new excuse every time they do respond. We paid them over 500K and of course they are dragging their feet to get the job done and they say they will not delay another homes closing to complete their contractual obligations on our home and this is because they already have their money and would prefer to keep getting others money instead of finishing the job.

Hello I'm not sure if this is for us as we have no clients with this name and I have not received a letter
Is there any possibility of getting more information please?
      Thanks

Hello I apologize I did reach out I was told there was a letter and I reached out to the BBB which I have an email stating one we did not have a homeowner with that name however I believe is her maiden name and then I did not receive a letter with a code.

So yes there was confusion we were given the incorrect carpet somehow ******** ********* **** switched addresses.  So 2 houses installed at the same time had carpet swapped.  Thankfully the first client wasn't upset and chose to leave it. We reordered the carpet with our salesman believing the issue to be handled.  And yes its has been insanely busy and we've had issues such as sickness, death and the flooring owner having to have surgery.  When we ordered we were told it would be about 2-3 weeks.  When that time came Mrs. Wilson was very upset I asked for the delivery of carpet to find out our salesman out of his confusion due to swapped addresses messed up and ordered the incorrect carpet again.  We pushed paid for expedited shipping.  The carpet was in KC for about 2 weeks before we could install due to the owner of the flooring company having surgery placing him out of work for a bit as well as yes we were up against a lot of tight closings.  And from our view point we could not put a family on the street to replace carpet on stairs that was causing no harm or damage to another home or occupants.  As soon as the flooring company wasn't working 7 days a week trying to get through a massive rush we did replace the carpet.  Did it take a slight longer time yes unfortunately but again we did not see the harm as they had the most popular carpet selection in their home and we never had any intentions of delaying the project however Granted if it were something that caused harm we would have made it priority.

The construction industry is still a bit of a mess has been for quite some time there simply is more work than contractors.  Thankfully we are starting to see a slower pace but were all just out there working 70-80 hours a week doing the absolute best we can.

      Respectfully

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Although the builder refuses to take responsibility, the task has finally been completed after making this report!

Please note the builder had no problems making us “homeless” when they moved our closing date but when something they mess up needs to be completed, after they have their money, it can be held up because it is not life threatening. Interesting.

      Sincerely,

      ******* **********
