    I ordered a pair of mens ballroom dance shoes online from ballroomshoes.com. I was careful to read the strict return policy beforehand which required shoes to be returned within 14 days and in the unused new condition. I received the shoes without any major issues (although the tracking mechanism is not straightforward since they use Shopify). The website guidance when ordering the shoes was to order the UK size which is 2 less than the US size, which was what I followed. [They have since then updated it to be 1 less than US size following my communications with them of conflicting information on their website where there was a picture that showed the shoe sizes to be off by one].
    I tried the new shoes on at home and they were too tight. It was very clear that I needed the next size up. So, I started a return/exchange request which was approved. The shoes were sent back in the original new condition. However, I got an email that the pair they received was worn out and did not qualify for the exchange/refund. The picture they sent me was a pair shoes that have clearly been used, which is not the pair of shoes I sent back. I contested this, but they maintained that the pair of shoes they received were the worn ones. They were sure that it was not mixed up with any other return or order. This leaves the situation in a - my word against their word state. I called the business to discuss this and they maintained that the shoes they received were very dirty/dusty and used. The follow up pictures they sent of the return showed a shoebox that has some damage on the edges and dusty shoes and shoe bag. The return I sent was not dusty and the shoebox looked brand new as well.
    All these interactions with ballroomshoes.com lead me to believe that either the business is incapable of processing the returns/exchanges in a competent manner or worse still dishonest.

    We strive to give great customer service to all our customers. We are constantly updating and improving our website. When we find a mistake on our end we correct it as quickly as possible. We want our customers to have the best online shopping experience. We are also available to answer phone calls, text messages, and emails for any questions that a customer may have. Our return policy states that any shoe that is returned or exchanged must be in new condition and unworn. The shoes we received back from this customer were covered in dust and debris, therefore they are a total loss to us since we cannot sell them again. Our procedures and processes ensure all returns and exchanges are done accurately and within a timely manner.
