Two dogs were taken in for grooming. The place smelled terrible and the dogs were cut unevenly. One dog had a spot show up on her shortly after leaving. The spot was attempted to be treated for 3 weeks, and started getting worse. She was taken to the vet and was told it’s Clipper burn and required iodine treatment. When the business was contacted about the issue, they said it was probably just from scratching and hung up on me with no apology or offer to help resolve the issue.

    Business Response

    Date: 03/31/2023

I am including a voicemail in this message.
I groomed 2 dogs for **** ****** on January 28, 2023.  I never heard from the owner about any issue at all.
Her daughter called my shop on March 1, 2023, belittling me and my shop and using curse words.  Told me something about razor burn on the leg and then said flank.  I asked her what vet.  She could not tell me the name of the vet.  She didn't know the dollar amount of any bill.  "Just admit you f$#d up!" She said and was being hateful.  I plainly said, "Bring me documentation."  And hung up.
A minute later she calls again and I let it go to voicemail.  I've been grooming for 28 years and this is the first verbal hostile attack I had encountered.  I am including the recording of her message.
I have yet to receive any documentation of any vet visit.  Nothing.
I will also say the dog did not have razor burn from my clippers.  It had come in WITH a red area on it and also a mat on the opposite area, which to me indicates friction or rubbing.  The mat was in a rope shape and connected in 2 spots, resembling a stirrup.  I remember it well because I was thinking, "Why didn't they clip this off?"  Dog is an unneutered young male.
I am not paying money for a vet bill I haven't seen and not paying for something I haven't done.  I have sent a dog to the vet before for a hair in its eye and paid the bill so I do care.  I had no issue with Mrs. ****** in the past and even groomed her father's dog.
As a goodwill gesture, I will donate money to a rescue in her father's name, as he recently passed away.
