  I hired this company and because I told the owner I didn&#**;t like how the work was being done he said I breached the contract, took off, and didn&#**;t come back and didn&#**;t finish the job. I paid $5,000 and the job is unfinished.

  Until now the BBB has had zero complaints on us. Why? Because of how we treat our cutomers.Any questions or concerns that may arise  are addressed immediately and to the satisfaction of any reasonable person.  Our over 50 year track record testifies to ********* we have letters of reference from many local bankers and leading business people.  That's why this complaint was so unusual and  unexpected.  He had voiced absolutely no complaints in person or by phone until a major part of the project neared completion.. He had already been in breach of contract because of his failure to pay the full $6000 downpayment. He had said he;d do so when the insurance check cleared.. I took him at his word and we kept working.  Several days later I asked him if it had cleared and he said Yes, so I said we need what he promised in the contract. That's when he blew up saying he did'nt want my guys to do his metal work and that he'd hire someone else. He said they were too slow. All I got to tell him was we didn't take the job by the hour and it didn't cost him any extra for the contracted work except for the extra joists..We've never in our lives  abandoned a job.  But we took his words to mean we were fired. What;s the strangest thing is a few days later he calls up and demands we complete the job by end of week.  Again, he was loud, boisterous and threatening plus telling me not to call or contact them again..Why this change? We're not sure but we suspicion he'd fired us without telling his partner and then when we hadn't showed back up, he tried to save face by blaming it on us. Apparently she was in the background while he put on this show for her benefit. Anyway, I had immediatly sent him a certified letter outlining our position and that he was in default not us. Further documentation forthcoming by mail. I don't know how to send it  with this response.
