My daughter took my car in for the throttle body to be programmed. Instead of it being programmed, the brain was fried. When I picked it up on Monday, I was told the lights on the dash should go off, and anything there afterward would be on me to repair. I was told to leave off the property. I should not be responsible for any repairs with this issue when they caused the problem.

I need more information as I find no records in our system with this customer's name or their phone number. I need a date of service and the vehicle information including the ****

The vehicle type is a 2006 Saturn Ion, VIN# *****************

      Business Response

      Date: 08/29/2024

Customer brought vehicle in on 6/24/24 for appointment at 3:30pm. The vehicle was scanned on the service drive at 3:29pm. The codes B0092, P0171, P0420, P0496, P060E and P2138 were present (see attached documentation). Customer requested the throttle body reprogrammed due to replacement of throttle body by the customer and throwing vehicle in limp mode (see attached RO copy with customer complaint listed).

Customer has told the service advisor they have replaced several other components trying to fix what the other codes/lights were.

The technician tried to reprogram and the software from General Motors crashed at the time which took out the **** Our service manager, ***********************, pleaded with General Motors District Manager for General Motors to help take care of this since it wasn't the fault of Griffith Motor Company or the customer. General *********************** covered the replacement of the **** We had to install a used part due to the part being discontinued by General Motors. We also had to have a General Motors engineer come to program due to the software being too old since the vehicle is a 2006 model.

After ECM was installed, the throttle body was reprogrammed per the customer request but the limp mode concern is still present.

Customer picked up the vehicle and said there were lights on the dash. We have advised her many times these codes/lights were present when she originally brought the vehicle in. But she has insisted they were not. Again, see attached scan that shows all the codes/lights present when the vehicle was first brought in as well as what the customer requested be done to the car.

The customer has been belligerent with our service manager, *********************** and other staff. Customer has demanded that we fix their car. We addressed the concern they originally came in for.

There is no other assistance Griffith Motor Company or General Motors can offer this customer.
