I signed a contract with ***** (DCL Construction) January 17th, 2024, for a roof to be put on our residential home. He stated at that time that the job would be completed in appox. a week to 10 days and that he would have a crew of 4-6 guys to do the job. He apparently subcontracted the job out immediately to someone he found on ******** who in turn, sent 2 homeless guys out along with two other guys. We had the homeless guys fired because they didn't know anything about roofing and stood around, frankly I didn't feel safe with them either. The two other guys (***** and *****) stayed on the job. the roof ended up getting finished April 3rd 2025. ***** never sent additional help out to with the roof. My husband and I ended up having to hire two people to help plus he took off work. In the meantime, ***** asked s for another 1/4 payment before job was done. (50% at the beginning was paid, 50% to be paid at the completion) we complied. April 3rd roof was 99% finished. we had some pieces that we had to order so we told ***** that we could just be "done" and we would finish it up. last payment was made, and contract was paid off. ***** then contacted the workers and made a remark that something was wrong with the roof. upon inquiring about that, ***** blocked my husband, me and both workers from all contact. He later texted me only stating that we owe him an additional $8100, saying that we had his workers do work that wasn't on the contract. We hired his workers to work for us (1099) on the weekends to do things which, I have all documents and payments for checks paid to them directly from us. ***** then put a lien on our home. Sent harassing texts constantly. had police come to our home. DCL construction and ***** have BBB complaints other than mine; he has an alias and mugshots along with 4 other people he has put liens on their homes. I contacted one of those families and he did the exact same thing to them. He also didn't pay his workers for 59 hours owed.
