On December 23rd, my pipes in my apartment burst, flooding the apartment above me which flooded my apartment. The office told me to get a POD, everything needed to be cleaned out. I did that. They told me I couldn't stay in the apartment. I went to stay with my daughter. I am still out of the apartment. The repairs are not finished. I asked them about prorating the rent, and they said that was not their policy to do that. They said that the insurance should cover it. I didn't pay it on the first; I came back to water the plants and there was a notice on the door. They charged me a late fee charge. I paid the late fee and the rent for the month that I wasn't there.

We are truly sorry that your pipe froze and burst.  Temperatures on that day were below freezing.  This is never a situation that we want to have happen to you as a resident.  This is why we require you to have renters insurance so you are protected if a situation such as this would occur.  I am sorry you were charged a late fee.  I have reversed that for you.  Normally we do not allow pods on the property, however we made an exception to make it easier on you.  As we discussed yesterday on the phone repairs to your apartment should tentatively be complete on Friday 1-27-23.  We also met you at your apartment this morning and personally moved your items for you so work could happen quicker to get back into your apartment.  I understand you are frustrated and am sorry you are in this situation.  It is the responsibility of your renters insurance company to reimburse you for your loss including rent reimbursement when you are displaced.  If you have any other questions I am here to help just gove me a call at *************

    Respectfully,
