I took my car into One Stop Tire and Auto, LLC back in January of 2025 they had my car for two weeks the first time. I was told I need the 02-sensor replaced and Catalytic Converter replaced and an oil change, they told me "Squirrels" chewed through my "wiring", and it needed to be replaced as well. I picked the car up and paid 1300$. The check engine light was still on, the car ran the same as it did when I dropped it off. I called the shop and spoke with the owner and let him know I was still having the same problem as when I brought it in there. The owner ***** said to "drive the car and put miles on it so it can reset itself". I then dropped it off again a week later because I was still having the same issue and also needed emissions and inspections done as well. They never contacted me, I always had to call them for updates. They kept my car for another two and half weeks telling me they needed to flush the oil pump and replace the oil pump sensor. They didn't charge me for that. Then the owner proceeded to tell me the engine needs to be replaced, and it was a known GM issue. I got my car back and the check engine light was still on still having the same problems. So, I decided to have a second opinion at this new mechanic they have had my car for a week and a half and replaced the CORRECT oil sensor and told me I did not need a new engine I just needed a new timing chain and sensors and to fix that it is going to cost me 2300$. I'm very upset over the fact I have been without a car on and off for almost 2 months and paid 1300$ that did not fix the problem and this new shop did. When I called the One Stop Tire and Auto the owner ***** was disbelief that was the problem the whole time. I almost had to go take a loan out to get a new car over what ***** misdiagnosed my car with. I am not handing this lightly. Now I'm trying to figure out how to come up with 2300$ when i just gave 1300$ to a shop that misdiagnosed my car.

Her 2014 Malibu was dropped off on 12/30/24 with the following concerns. • “Car has multiple codes stored” • “Engine dies at stoplights” • “Feels like it’s misfiring on accel” • “As you drive more the engine gets louder” Upon initial inspection the Technician found no engine oil showing on stick and 10 trouble codes stored in memory. P0068 Throttle Body Performance P0101 MAF Sensor out of range P0106 MAP\BARO signal out of range P0131 B1S1 Oxygen sensor Heater Failure P0171 Fuel Trim Stuck Lean P0420 Catalyst Efficiency below threshold P0443 Purge Solenoid Fault P055B Intake Cam Actuator Performance P2047 Post Cat Fuel Trim High P2544 Transmission requested Check Engine light Diagnosis revealed a failed Mass Airflow Sensor, Failed B1S1 Oxygen Sensor, Faulty throttle Body Assembly and a Failed Purge Solenoid. Our recommendations were to replace the known faulty parts, change the engine oil and reset the system. It was explained to the customer that a couple of these codes may have been set due to lack of engine oil, so changing the oil and resetting the system should be the first step in addressing the associated codes. During the course of the repair, we found some “Rodent” damaged wires and repaired them. We replaced the Mass Airflow Sensor, Oxygen Sensor, Throttle body Assembly and Purge solenoid and performed an Oil Change. We instructed the customer the car would need to be driven in order for the vehicle’s computer system to test its systems and run the Readiness Monitors so it would be ready for the State’s Emissions test. The car was picked up by the customer on 1/15/2025 to be driven and get ready for the test. Upon its return 2/25/25 The ONLY code stored was P0521 Oil Pressure out of spec. At that time, we were unable to confirm whether it was low engine oil pressure or a faulty oil pressure switch as both tested OK at the time. We advised customer about Technical Service Bulletins from GM about oil pressure issues with this engine. We replaced an Oil Pressure Sensor at no charge and advised that the car needed again to be driven in an attempt to get it ready to pass the Emissions test. We then received this review. We spoke to the “New” mechanic and he advised that an Oil pressure code had returned along with a Timing code and his diagnosis revealed more wire damage to one of the Cam actuator circuits, a failed oil pressure sensor and Stretched Timing Chains. Unfortunately, low engine oil is one of the main causes of timing Chain failure in GM engines as the chain is both lubricated and tensioned by engine oil pressure. One last thing that wasn’t mentioned in the review is One Stop provided a loaner car at no charge to the customer during this repair.
