On May 28, 2022, I purchased an dealer extended warranty with Axiom Products. On June 18, 2022 the check engine light came on. An ignition coil blew and I had to pay over $400 out of pocket because they wouldn’t cover the service. The night of June 22, the engine light came back on and the car had trouble starting on June 23. This time it was something to do with the coolant. Finally on June 26th the engine light came back on and the dealer service finally decided (after having my car for over a week) that a new engine was needed due to a broken fuel ignition and gasket. The new engine would cost $5k at least and Axiom is refusing to pay for it (as of August 5) since they think all of these issues were known when the vehicle was bought. No the dealer could not have legally sold the vehicle as it currently is since it isn’t road safe with a faulty engine. None of these were known issues to either the dealer or me. Axiom is complete refusing to honor their service warranty with me.

Axiom has received your recent complaint regarding your Vehicle Service Contract. Since the purchase of your contract, you have opened two claims with Axiom. On 6/18/2022, you opened a claim regarding the failed coil which caused your check engine light to come on. Axiom authorized the claim for $333.49 which included 1.3 hours of labor and the ignition coil. The authorized labor time is determined by a nationally recognized labor guide. Axiom paid the repair facility on 6/22/2022. According to your repair order, the shop charged additional labor outside of what was approved by Axiom, causing the amount due to be higher than what Axiom paid.

On 6/27/2022, you opened a claim regarding your check engine light coming on again and the vehicle riding rough. Axiom set up an inspection on 7/7/2022. The inspector found that there was coolant intrusion that could be causing the internal failure of the engine but was unable to determine the exact cause of the failure. The inspector recommended a further teardown to find the root of the failure. Axiom requested freeze frame data from the ASM on multiple occasions from 7/11/2022 to 7/21/2022. Axiom was notified the vehicle has been in the shop multiple times since its sale date of 6/18/2022 and thus, the ASM could not produce the freeze frame data. Axiom advised the ASM we would need the  customer to authorize teardown to point of failure to be able to verify where the failure was happening.

As of today’s date, the claim is still open and pending. Once you give authorization for the teardown, Axiom can proceed with the claim to see what is failing and if Axiom can provide coverage. If the teardown reveals an issue that is not covered by the terms of your contract, you may be responsible for the costs associated with the teardown and any repairs that are not covered by your contract.

I was defrauded when sold my Range Rover rim repair warranty. I was told I was given unlimited repairs during the 60 month period. Later, when I was making a repair they said it was limited to 8 repairs. I called Axiom and explained that they cannot grossly misrepresent their product in selling it to customers and they refused to honor the terms that were disclosed.
