I submitted an application and paid this company $150.00 for a credit check to be considered for a rental property. After not hearing back from anyone, I called to check on the status, I was told they are no longer the managing company for this property and was given another company to contact, which no one answers my calls. I provided this company all of my personal information and made payment to them directly. I want the inquiry removed from my credit report and I want a full refund.Business Response

I moved into this home on July 5 of 2022 I had water for nine days out of the first 45 I have had nothing but water issues and sewage issues in his home I have over 100 emails and probably 70 to 100 text messages with me trying to get the issue resolved they would send someone over and half Patchett I had a human waste in my front yard and no one at great Jones or the management company that does the repairs would send anybody out here to fix it today it is almost September and I still have human waste coming up in the front yard. The bathroom faucets will not turn on and they painted the tubs so paint chips off every time you take a shower. The home was not clean when we moved in.Business Response

My family and I were supposed to receive the keys to a house on 7/26 in which we had a signed lease and had paid $1025 for a holding fee/first months rent as well as $300 for a pet deposit. An occupancy inspection was completed and a leak was found in the ceiling so the move in date was pushed to 8/1 by the company. On 8/1 we still had no key and had not received communication on the matter. After about 3 days of calling, emailing and texting the support line we were finally informed that move in had to be pushed back to 8/12 at the latest due to another pending inspection. Once again 8/12 came and we had still received no keys or time frame on when we could move in. Now we have also paid 1 payment of $14.33 towards a security deposit that the company refused to cancel as well as $170 for a ***** that had been rented when expected to move on 8/1. We have tried to contact the company many times, nearly a daily basis since 8/1 most of which we cannot get a representative. When we do get one we get somebody they cannot help us or transfer us to a supervisor and they keep telling that the leasing manager will contact us back to no avail. We finally were contacted back twice stating we could choose another place however every single time we respond saying which other place we would be willing to move into if it was available now we still receive zero response and are now looking at almost a month of not having somewhere to live. I am currently 35 weeks pregnant I had intended to be in our new house for over a month before the baby was supposed to be born however we can’t even seem to get an actual date for move-in and this is causing not only a financial burden but an unnecessary amount of stress for my family. All we have been asking for is a house to move into, and we have been more than patient but it is starting to get ridiculous considering we have already given money to a place who refuses to uphold their side of the lease or communicate with us on the manner.Business Response

My partner and were looking for a rental property in ********, **. Found a nice property and paid the holding fee to remove the property from the market, however, we were told 3 days before move in that the move in cost would be almost double what were originally told. After going back and forth with the contact of our region and customer support we decided not to move forward with the property. We requested a refund of the holding fee on 8/2/22 and as of 8/22/22 we have not received the refund. After speaking with customer support to get a follow up of when the monies would be sent to us I learned that communication regarding our matter stopped and no one at Great Jones had responded to the text and emails submitted both by myself or the Great Jones customer support personnel. Do not do business with this company horrible communication if any at all. Very unprofessional. Not clear on move in cost and will ignore you to not refund your money. I will be filing a class action lawsuit as I am sure I am not the only person that has had a horrible experience with this company.Business Response

I applied for a home in ***** ****** on 8/1/22 I sent all documents requested. A week later I called for an update and was told that the home I applied for was rented to someone else. I was then told I could apply to another home. I have been reaching out everyday for the past 18 days and I still don’t know the status of my application. There is no one that can connect me to an agent in my city and I keep getting emails from someone named ****** ****** that he will call and email me but he hasn’t. I have call everyday no one is telling me anything. This is messing up my lively hood. They took my money and still won’t tell me if I was approved and I may be homeless because they were my last resort and they said they could help me. On 07/29/2022, I was accepted into a rental property. On 07/30/2022, I paid a holding fee of $1089.00 to secure the property. I signed my lease and other documents on 08/01/2022. I got all utilities and services switched over and confirmed on 08/09/2022. I am scheduled to move on 08/19/2022 and was told that I would receive an email with a lockbox code on it on 08/18/2022 between 4pm-6pm. On 08/18/2022 I received an email from ********** ***** stating that they are now my property manager. I never received anything from Great Jones nor is there anything in the lease that I signed stating that ********** ***** would now be my property manager. Is my lease now void? I haven't received my keys and my calls and emails are being ignored. Great Jones has had terrible communication with me since I first applied for a rental property.
If I am not contacted by Great Jones or ********** ***** before 08/20/2022, I'm just going to assume that I got scammed and would like the total amount of the holding fee, $1089.00 refunded to me.Business Response

I put application in for a house that was already token off the market. Soon as I finished my 50 dollar application fee the house was gone off the market. Seems like fraud you shouldn’t be able to applied for a house that’s gone off the market. I emailed and called them they said my application can be use to put on another application. So I tired for other homes they also was took of the market. So I end up finding a home that’s still available to this day that’s still on the market . I tired for going for that home… I was never denied are anything! The back and forwards emails took over weeks and building onto months. I at this point would like a refund because I never should have been able to apply for a home that was already token off the market. Like why are you still taking application fees for a home that’s not available and been off the market.Business Response

I moved into this home on *** ***** ** ****** ******** ** *****. On 04/12/2022. I have been without central air the whole summer. They have sent an old man and his grandson to my residence 5 times and the issue is still not resolved. I have small children and I cannot even cook inside my house due it being extremely hot. This is my 2nd BBB complaint and there has been no resolution. A certified HVAC professional needs to be sent out to the property ASAP.
