*** did a shower for us, about a week after finishing it was leaking again, he came out and rubbed caulk everywhere and said it was fixed, about 6 months later we had water literally pouring in to our basement, after removing ceiling we found a container and paper towels to hide the leak. *** said he would come back and correct the issue he never came, than *** claimed he would make an insurance claim and never came. This man is dishonest and does terrible work. My shower was a complete regut because of his water proofing and the damage to the walls behind where it was leaking.

I don't want to stop this complaint. He has scammed five people.

I am rejecting this response because:

I hired an attorney April 10th 2024 to send him a demand letter which he refused to pay. He did not respond back in the 15 days. As of today I have heard  from his attorney. This case is not been filled in court nor has anything been resolved once again *** is lying.

this man continues to scam people and has now from what I see three complaints from the Better Business Bureau in a year.  He still sitting there with an A plus rating,

I do not accept his response until he reimburses me for the damage hes caused in my home

    Sincerely,

We hired this company in August of 2022 to reconstruct and refinish
our staircase. We paid *** two installment payments by check. One for
$3200 and the second for $1840 for materials. Unfortunately, when it
came time to stain the staircase, it was not done properly. In November
of 2022, we confronted *** about how he planned to fix this. We asked to
meet with him in person. After many attempts to communicate with him,
from that point forward, we didn't hear anything back. He stopped
showing up to our home where he left us with a large unfished project.
He did not respond to any calls, texts, or emails. The unfinished
staircase was a hazard to our children and left us with a very costly
problem to fix. We hired another company in the Spring of 2023. They had
to rip out everything and start from scratch. Fast forward to January
of 2024, *** responded to one of the many emails I had sent him for the
first time since November of 2022. From there, we cordially communicated
back and forth. I expressed the difficult situation he put us in as
well as the financial impact this has had on our family. He apologized.
My request was extremely minimal in comparison to what I could have
asked for. I asked for him to reimburse us for the carpet that he
charged us for that was never delivered as well as the cost to replace
our spindles. He agreed to do so. He owned his mistakes and stated he
would write me a check. He wrote me a check the end of January and told
me I could cash it by February 9, 2024. I was not able to cash it on
February 9th but was able to do so on February 12, 2024. The check
cleared and *** fulfilled our ask.

Mrs. **** hired us last fall to do work at her house. One was to white wash a fire place and paint some built in cabinets. When we got done with that she was totally satisfied, and she hired us to replace her staircase. We rebuilt it with solid oak and metal spindles, and she wanted it to match the stain of her front door. We color matched the front door with the stain and she approved it. Then we had to wait a few days to put the polyurethane on it. The humidity was so high in the house the stain would not dry out, so I had a sales rep from ******* ******** who we bought the stain from to come take a look in order to give his opinion on what to do next. The sales rep suggested for us to gently wipe the stained area with mineral spirits. Mrs. **** was present during this conversation. We came in the next morning to do what the sales rep suggested. Mrs. **** took it upon herself to rub the stained area with mineral spirits. She rubbed it so hard that it took a lot of stain out of the wood. When we came in the next morning it was all splotchy. So by her doing so she actually ruined the wood, and we could not re-stain it, and we were going to have to replace all of the wood we had already put up. When I told her this she told us to leave the job site and she was going to get another contractor to come in. The other contractor told her the same thing I did about replacing the wood. To make things fair to her, I asked her to send me a copy of the bid the other contractor gave her, and I would work up a proposal to see if there was a refund due. She refused to do that. For the work that we put in, there should not have been a refund due at that time. She claimed that she paid for materials and they were not delivered. The only materials that were not delivered to her house was the carpet runner, and it was a custom order.

Issued check on 8/25/2022 to *****s Contracting LLC - $3,200 -50% down (Cashed on 8/26/2022)

Issued check on 10/5 to *****s Contracting LLC - $1,840 – Spindles and carpet runner (never ordered) but check cashed same day.

    TOTAL PAID: $5,040

Work that was completed based on contract:

-White Wash Fireplace (he has not attached mantel): $725.00

Work that was completed but not in contract (to be fair, there is proof in a text)

    -Painted 2 Bookshelves: $500.00

-Stained Mantel: $100.00 (Technically this is not complete though. He only did the first coat and did not attach mantel as stated on Line Item 3 of the contract. Currently it is just sitting on the bricks)

Total Cost incurred based on completed work: $1,325.00 (if we include the $100 to stain the mantel)

**He started on the staircase but that is nowhere near done and we will now have to be ripped out and re-done. Not secure or up to code. Stain rubs off on your hands when you touch it.

-We should be reimbursed 100% for the cost of the staircase regardless of the "work" he's done. It will have to all be ripped out due to his negligence. Its not even 50% complete.

-We were going to have him refinish the stair steps, too (which is not listed in his contract)…That is how the carpet runner came about. Now, we absolutely have to re-do the stairs because it is raw wood OR we have to re-carpet.

Costs we will incur to fix and complete the staircase:

$2,210 to Re-do stairs OR replace with carpet.

$2,552.16 – Re-do staircase and railing (prep, sand, stain all hand railings, plates, stair skirts and newel posts)

$78.88 –Labor for Painting interior foyer wall as a result of *** ***** spraying stain and getting it on our walls (he did not properly cover or protect anything surrounding)

$149.80- Labor for Painting stairwell (overspray transferred on walls since they were not covered)

    $291.15 – Paint products

$_(X)__: Flooring at top of stairs (*** ripped out our existing carpet and threw it away)

This doesn't include replacing Spindles if that ends up being the case.

    =$5,281.99 + (Cost of flooring) + (new spindles) = ___X______
