From the beginning this was poor customer **********************. The preparer asked us to go the social security office to get more information (not sure what) and we flatly refused, He then kept looking at various documents to determine how to prepare our taxes, either married filing together or married filing separately. It was the first year I had been on disability and that's why we went to Liberty-for someone to prepare the taxes as this was a new status for us. I (****) have *********** and didn't feel well enough to attend the second meeting, which my husband attended as the preparer said he needed more time to "research." When we returned for our "final" visit, the preparer took another customer ahead of us, when we had an appointment-this was a walk in customer. Then, to our surprise we received checks from both federal and state that we had overpaid. I attached the photo of one of the checks. This has literally gone on for months. Their stance is that we didn't have to pay a penalty that there is no need for them to refund the preparation fee. We find that ridiculous and flies in the face of the guarantee they lead people to believe. The preparer clearly made errors on both returns. When speaking to "*****" who is the supervisor of the local office, we have repeatedly had the runaround. At one point she wanted us to find out from the *** what errors were made. That was absurd to us and we told ***** that was the responsibility of Liberty. At every turn they have tried to put the responsibility on us, when we did everything they asked us to do. For the above, we want a full refund of the fee. At the corporate office **** has been talking to ***** ************ option 2. I last spoke to her on October 4, 2024. She said she would follow up with me, and nothing yet. It's clear to us that they don't intend to actually do a thing about this matter.
