This company is a group of liars. I adopted a healthy dog from them and it turns out, she is not. She has serious problems with her back left leg due to a prior injury and surgery. They lied about her age, they lied about giving her vaccines, they lied about her leg (when they knew; they had all her medical records AND a statement from the woman who surrendered the dog). I filed a small claims case and they went to court and lied there too. I begged them for help because I dont have the income for a disabled dog. They refused to talk to me and hired lawyers instead, to make me go away. Beware if you adopt an animal from them. In my case, nothing they said about this dog was true. Find another shelter. There's a reason they aren't BBB accredited.

Dear Ms. **** *., thank you for your review of our organization. We take pride in being an integral part of this community for almost fifty years. It is disheartening to hear that you believe we were dishonest with you, as we stand by the facts. You received a copy of the medical records from our veterinarian, which included all vaccinations, as well as records from the previous owner at the time of adoption. You also signed our adoption agreement, which clearly states, "While we take every precaution to ensure the health of our shelter animals, we cannot provide any guarantee." This agreement, which you signedand I trust, READincludes a policy on health issues: "Any health problems that arise post-adoption must be reported to Dogwood Animal Shelter immediately..." However, the first time we heard from you was four months after the adoption. You initiated several legal claims, and we defended ourselves with documented evidence in courtFACT. We have not refused communication with youFACT. You lodged a complaint with the *************************, where you made unfounded accusationsFACT. We did not engage an attorneyFACT. I invite anyone reading this to contact me directly to discuss all the FACTS - *********, Director, Dogwood Animal Shelter.
