My GC has left a notice of intent to file lien on my doorstep because I refused to provide final payment. His contractor was still on site doing touch up work with intent to come back on Monday to do additional work.I made clear I was not refusing to pay him, but that I wanted the work complete. The issue arose because his business partner was also contracted by me to address an insurance claim. It's been over 3 months and that work was not completed despite my repeated attempts to get them to complete their work. They have only recently ordered material to do so and it will be 2-3 weeks from Friday 8/16 when they ordered it before they can come in and seal the window I had them ************* window is still duct taped to prevent ********** contract states remainder of payment is due at 100% completion/final walkthrough.Again, my window is still taped up, his contractors still have plans to return on Monday to complete additional work and he has not stopped by for a final walkthrough. Also, they keep saying they are separate companies and not responsible for each others work, but the contractors working on my house were wearing First Responders Restoration t-shirts not Chance Construction and **************************** of the window and duct tape as well as a photo of his contractor still working on my bathroom.$11,471.72 with $3,823.90 remaining to complete.Again, I have no problem paying the bill (financially anyway). I am requesting them to finalize the window re-install before providing final payment.

First and foremost, I want to highlight that you told my employees indicating that you were satisfied with everything we had completed, except for the final trash pick-up, which we had scheduled for Monday morning. This agreement was made clear during our discussions.

Regarding the window in the back of your house, I want to emphasize that this issue is entirely separate and is related to a different contract that you have with another company. As such, it is not within the purview of Chance Construction and Design. We have fulfilled our obligations under our contract, and any potential issues related to the other contract should be addressed with that company directly. We do not speak on behalf of any other local businesses wether we do business together or not alit of local companies work together but this is why I had you sign a separate contract for the work you wanted from my company

I understand that you may have concerns about the overall situation, but we are committed to resolving any issues pertaining to our services. However, if there is a refusal to communicate or cooperate regarding the payment for the work we completed, we may have no choice but to consider filing a lien on the property. This is not our preferred course of action, but we must protect our business interests.

We value your business and would like the opportunity to discuss your concerns further. I encourage you to reach out so we can work together to resolve this matter amicably.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Best regards,

I have reviewed the business' response and am rejecting it because:

My window was not properly installed and sealed. I have met my obligations, they have not met theirs.

    Sincerely,

March 2023, I hired Chance Construction to have a balcony rebuilt. 6 months later I was contacted to let me know that the project would be delayed due to weather. (I didn't even know they were going to start the project!) I was never informed of another start date. January 2024 (9 months after the deposit check was cashed), I attempted to resume contact with Chance Construction. I tried to contact them 1-3 times a week, via email, text and phone calls for the next 3 months. I wanted to simply talk to a human being about my project. Only once was I told (via an email) that they were having issues obtaining a permit. (I called ********* and they had NO record of a permit for this project being applied for.) Since then I have had zero communication response from them. They refuse to answer my call, texts or emails. I NEED to have this project completed asap and I need my deposit back so I can hire another company to do just that. I understand that I might be a small project, but it was one they committed to and now refuse to even communicate with me about. I just want my money back.

Services listed- Tuckpointing, grinding out old joints, replacing concrete in corner of home.
Serviced areas- front corner of house and window ledege tuckpointing, back of house and window ledge tuckpointing, build up of concrete on corner of the foundation in rear of home.
This job started in September, I contacted owner ******* **** November 26 because the job was still incomplete and he was unaware and told that the job was done by his employee. December 9th he sent out the same people to finish the job, whatever was used to tuckpoint was sloppy and didn't match the house and on this same date recieved a message from him stating that it would have to be redone because of the quality of work. Follow up messages sent about when someone could come out to finish throughout January and on January 21 I was told by the owner it would be complete before the end of January. January 26 recieved another message that he would be sending out a different company to fix the issues. February 6 he sent out another person to correct rhe corner of the front of the house and above side door. Work was adequate but still sloppy and I sent another message explaining that the back needed to be redone based on what the other person who redid the work did and the fact that there are spots in the back of the house that were not even filled in completely and totally ground out. Now I get no answer after he agreed via message to fix the back of the home. He has not come out to the house once to inspect the work and requested pictures from me. I sent pictures of the everything including the back of the house that is not filled along with pictures of tarps and bags of concrete sitting on the side and back of my home that was never cleaned up.

I offered the customer a full refund for $1800.00 and, I sent a mason to her house and paid out of pocket $800.00. Also, the customer is requesting for me to pay for something that her house did not have to begin with.  My contract with her replacing concrete corner of the home, grinding out joints, and tuck pointing.  We did replacing concrete in corner of the home, grinding out joints, and tuck points.  I am ok going over filling in the joints, but I will not pay another company to go out there.   I am willing to give the customer a full refund.
